I probably don't like him quite as much as those guys, but he is quality. I'd put him above Steve Earle, and below Townes in ranking, maybe not quite as good as Kris Kristofferson at his peak but more consistent. Don't ask me to defend that. I like what I like, there's nothing scientific about it.

Pick one. Period. One is not better than another. If you like intelligent twang, this is the man to listen to. I'd YSI something if all my cd's weren't on a moving van right now.

i just watched this last night and listened to townes all day long - trying to figure out which song the band's going to cover live. everyone who wants to understand the birth of alt.country should see this. i can't wait to meet guy clark and drink with him and ask him a few questions.
