Memphis area--POD needs your help . . .

Hey! We are loading up the truck for POD's move to Austin. We figure by the time he gets around Memphis he is gonna need a nap.

Anyone in the area willing to let Phil crash on the couch for a couple hours?

He's taking 55 south to Memphis and then cutting over through Little Rock over to 35 to get to Austin. From Chicago, it's the fastest route using major highways.

Nap at one of the dozen or so truckstops in West Memphis. You can't miss 'em.

True, the problem with that is that the back of the truck is completely full and so is the backseat. He doesn't want to sleep in the truck and leave everything unguarded. He's probably going to end up getting a hotel, loading everything into the room and repacking the truck. All the "good" stuff is in the backseat but still . . . people will steal anything nowadays.

If he goes down I-40 about 45 minutes from Memphis, there are chain motels (Days Inn, Econo Lodge, Super 8, Holiday Inn, etc.) in Forrest City, Arkansas. It's a small town (maybe 20,000 residents, maybe) [named after Nathan Bedford Forrest, but it's also where Al Green is from.

It would likely be cheaper and easier than staying around Memphis.

Phil is resting comfortably in St. Louis with one of the guys he met at band camp.

Colin, if all goes to plan, he should be hitting Austin around 2 or 3 tomorrow afternoon.
