So I'm finally getting a new PC after years of being content with an old-school laptop. It's the main reason why I haven't played any games since Counter-Strike and I really want to get back into the gaming world, so what games do you peeps recommend?

After looking at a few sites like IGN and Gamespot, I like how X-Men Legends II and Oblivion look. I don't want to buy a lot of games right away, just a few to keep me busy for the next year or two.

Oblivion...hands down. Its simply that good. Plus its got something like 200+ hours of gameplay.

Just picked up Titan Quest. RIYL: Diablo II. Sucker needs a lot of juice to run, though.

Warcraft 3
Doom 3
GTA San Andreas
Half Life 2
Painkiller
Lego Star Wars
Diablo 2 (expansion's pretty much mandatory if you get this)
Star Wars Republic Commando
Halo (2 if it's out)
