Helluva song, too.
I'll try to remember to bring it for a YSI tomorrow.

the The - "Armageddon Days"
Quote:
Are you ready for Jesus?
Uh huh
Buddha?
Yeah
Muhammad?
Ok
Well, I like this
Let's Go

They're 5 miles high as the crow flies
Leaving vapour trails against a blood red sky
Moving in from the East towards the West
With Balaclava helmets over their heads, yes

But if you think that Jesus Christ is coming
Honey you've got another thing coming
If he ever finds out who's hi-jacked his name
He'll cut out his heart and turn in his grave

Islam is rising
The Christians mobilising
The world is on its elbows and knees
It's forgotten the message and worships the creeds

It's war, she cried
It's war, she cried
This is war
Drop your possessions all you simple folk
You'll fight them on the beaches in your underclothes
You'll thank the good Lord for raising the Union Jack
You'll watch the ships sail out of harbour
And the bodies come floating back
Watch the ships sail out of harbour
And the bodies come floating back

But if you think that Jesus Christ is coming
Honey you've got another thing coming
If he ever finds out who's hi-jacked his name
He'll cut out his heart and turn in his grave

Islam is rising
The Christians mobilising
The world is on its elbows and knees
It's forgotten the message and worships the creeds

"Get the gun, get the gun, get the gun"
"Stay away from the gun, stay away from the gun"

If the real Jesus Christ were to stand up today
He'd be gunned down cold by the CIA
Oh, the lights that now burn brightest behind stained glass
Will cast the darkest shadows upon the human heart
But God didn't build himself that throne
God doesn't live in Israel or Rome
God doesn't belong to the yankee dollar
God doesn't plant the bombs for Hezbollah
God doesn't even go to church
And God won't send us down to Allah to burn
God will remind us what we already know
That the human race is about to reap what it's sown

Islam is rising
The Christians mobilising
The world is on its elbows and knees
It's forgotten the message and worships the creeds

The world is on its elbows and knees
It's forgotten the message and worships the creeds
The world is on its elbows and knees
It's forgotten the message and worships the creeds
The world is on its elbows and knees
It's forgotten the message and worships the creeds

Armageddon days are here again
Armageddon days are here again
Armageddon days are here again
Armageddon days are here

Oh, and this is NOT about politics.
And I'm NOT looking for a political argument.
Just about the general feel in the world today, period.
Makes Matt Johnson look like a freaking prophet. (Although it could be said that this one has been coming for a long time, and he was just reading the writing on the wall.)

Still, I heard this the other day and it hit me hard.

Did I miss a post, or is it my fucked-up memory fucking me up again?
I don't remember hearing anything about this, at any rate.
And my heart and prayers are with you.

probably just mentioned it now cuz it's related to this post and it's 10 days away and i'm just starting to become nervous. it's nothing major -- pacemaker replacement -- but there are still odds something crappy can go down. plus, there's no pacemaker/wireless-mp3 player yet with internal ear drum phones, so i'm kinda bummed about that. :P plus, i just went thru all my boxes of stuff i've kept since grade school in order to chuck what i don't want anymore & it's like i was summing up my life just before the surgery... if my life ever becomes noteworthy, maybe i'll write the prologue to someone else's book.

I know this may be cliche but seriously this song is the one making me cry these days.

Bob Dylan Most of the Time

Most of the time
I'm clear focused all around,
Most of the time
I can keep both feet on the ground,
I can follow the path, I can read the signs,
Stay right with it, when the road unwinds,
I can handle whatever I stumble upon,
I don't even notice she's gone,
Most of the time.

Most of the time
It's well understood,
Most of the time
I wouldn't change it if I could,
I can't make it all match up, I can hold my own,
I can deal with the situation right down to the bone,
I can survive, I can endure
And I don't even think about her
Most of the time.

Most of the time
My head is on straight,
Most of the time
I'm strong enough not to hate.
I don't build up illusion 'till it makes me sick,
I ain't afraid of confusion no matter how thick
I can smile in the face of mankind.
Don't even remember what her lips felt like on mine
Most of the time.

Most of the time
She ain't even in my mind,
I wouldn't know her if I saw her
She's that far behind.
Most of the time
I can't even be sure
If she was ever with me
Or if I was with her.

Most of the time
I'm halfway content,
Most of the time
I know exactly where I went,
I don't cheat on myself, I don't run and hide,
Hide from the feelings, that are buried inside,
I don't compromised and I don't pretend,
I don't even care if I ever see her again
Most of the time.

the other part of the time is just so brutal

I alternate between Mekons - 'Fear and Whiskey' and John Cale - 'Sabotage' these days. Until my head explodes. Then I've been digging the Philip Glass.

Elliott Smith - New Disaster

the ghost of your smile is always looking for new
bodies to haunt
and its been here
and dissapeared
its hanging around aloofly for awhile
gradually gone
its pleasing
and freezing
well i wonder what it is you’re after
keeping company with this disaster
you looked all over town
got turned around
to walk back through the mud
the kind you had left behind you
everybody is the same in this long no-win game
where every new blood gets time to
become resigned
now i wonder what it is you’re after
keeping company with this disaster
why you never tried to tame your master
you just blow through the coals
blow through the coals
blow through the coals
till everyone knows
that your smile is just a ghost
the ghost of your smile was seen on a body in the park
its old news
you see that its no use
waiting to start
waiting to light
waiting till dark
i told you man
i told you
well i wonder what it is you’re after
keeping company with this disaster
why you never tried to tame your master

Malaguena salerosa
This is a classic Mariachi tune. I'm just back from Merida, Mexico and I saw a trio rip this song bleeding and throbbing from their chests while sitting in the plaza of the ancient Santa Lucia Cathedral plaza yesterday afternoon. These hombres obviously have collectively sold their souls to the man downstairs in exchange for the right to play so fast...I did however swear I saw smoke rising from the frets.

Que bonitos ojos tienes
Debajo de esas dos cejas
Debajo de esas dos cejas
Que bonitos ojos tienes.

Ellos me quieren mirar
Pero si tu no los dejas
Pero si tu no los dejas
Ni siquiera parpadear.

Malaguena salerosa
Besar tus labios quisiera
Besar tus labios quisiera.
Malaguena salerosa
Y decirte nina hermosa.

Que eres lin........da y hechicera,
Que eres linda y hechicera
Como el candor de una rosa.

Si por pobre me desprecias
Yo te concedo razon
Yo te concedo razon
Si por pobre me desprecias.

Yo no te ofrezco riquezas
Te ofrezco mi corazon
Te ofrezco mi corazon
A cambio de mi pobreza.

Malaguena salerosa
Besar tus labios quisiera
Besar tus labios quisiera.
Malaguena salerosa
Y decirte nina hermosa.

Que eres lin........da y hechicera,
Que eres linda y hechicera
Como el candor de una rosa.
Y decirte nina hermosa.
