What color is your hair? Have you dyed it in the past? What color(s)?

I'm my natural dark brown right now. Contemplating dying it again because it's been a while.

I've done black, blond, green, and black/blue in the past.

I dye it every 6-8 weeks. It's naturally a very dark brown almost black, but I dye it a reddish brown. Well, my hairstylist does...I'd probably fuck it up.

Blue hair is the fast track out of retail.

I have natural emo hair, it is dark brown to black with a reddish tint, especially during the summer. I have dyed my hair jet black and Scarlet before, but I haven't dyed my hair in atleast three years.

I'm naturally some shade of brown, but I've been dying my hair since the fifth grade (and it hasn't fallen out yet -- score).

I've been blonde, strawberry blonde, auburn, black and have had streaks of pink and blue.

I just recently switched from my long running auburn to brunette. I needed a change. I like it quite a lot.

natural is blonde/strawberry blonde.

right now it's blonde roots with reddish outgrowth. used to be really red, but it's faded. earlier this year it was dark brown.

in high school it was purple once and green once
college was blonde
after college was dark red, almost black (goth!)

lately, i've been contemplating brown again, but letting it go natural is so much cheaper.

hair is fun.

the first time, i dyed it red on top of my natural auburn color, which just heightened the red in my hair. the second time, i did purple overtop of my natural color.. then i bleached it and it turned orange, blonde and red, but it faded from really light to dark at the bottom and it looked awesome (it was an accident). and right now my hair is hot pink, red, with a few shades of the orange stuck in there but it looks nice.

I know. I'm wondering if I should ask my manager about their policy before I do anything. But I don't want a flat-out no because I want to do it and I don't feel like I should have to change things in my personal life for a part-time, minimum wage retail job.

I'm planning on doing tangerine first, then blue when it fades.

I'm light brown, but I highlight it blonde... helps cover up the few straggly gray hairs I have. Will probably add some low lights later in the year, when it cools down, just to warm it up a bit more.

i dye my hair every time i get it cut (which is about every 2 months).

last time i dyed my hair jet black and had blonde streaks on different sections of my hair (it's kinda hard to describe unless you know how my hair is cut).

right now i still have the same blonde streaks... with a layer of tiny blonde streaks and some auburn.

used to have red streaks for awhile - loved it but red fades too fast.

I got a written warning for my hair the other day. It was the first time i've ever gotten a warning from any of my jobs, for anything. So I guess I don't really care considering I was about to put in my two weeks because i'm moving soon.
It's funny though, how the owner, the guy who created the store, Tom Leonard (the place is "Tom Leonard's Farmers Market") complimented my hair twice yesterday. He told me he liked it and it was cute, but the "front end manager" has the power to fire me when he's complimenting it? What the fuck ever.
I have until Friday to change it. But since i'm quitting soon I don't see why I should change it. I want to be a good employee but I need to find a job closer to where i'm living anyways and they keep cutting hours so it's not worth driving back over there to work.
So to sum things up i'm not changing it because i'm quitting and finding a closer job to my new home.

I've been dying mine since I was 12 when I accidentally discovered a box of henna in our bathroom cabinet. My mother was less then thrilled.

I was a blonde up until then. It's now a light brown color naturally, I think.

Right now it's a couple shades of artfully done reds with a few orangish blonde highlights thrown in. I have this awesome colorist who loves to experiment on me. I hated the highlights at first but because I also had it cut where I have bangs and a zillion layers it looks cool.

I have a question.
If you are dying your hair to cover the grey, should you try to keep it as natural as possible, and is there a fashion rule about dying it a rather outlandish shade.
My oldest sister always dyes her hair really vivid and unnatural red tints. I always think it is a little ridiculous.

I know the board's median age is skewed about a decade older than I am so I was fully expecting a bunch of "you're gay" responses.

Meanwhile these are probably from the same people who adore guys like David Bowie. It's not like I'm wearing makeup.

I don't claim to know anything about your sexual preference, I just think dying your hair is somewhat of a gay tendency.

There's far too much worry about what is and isn't "proper" guy behavior. Do whatever you want. Don't worry about it.

Besides, some of them faggos are almost like people, even.

So wait? Dying your hair isn't cool because it was forty years ago, and now it's passé?

I mean people listened to rock music and ate bread and wore shirts back then, so that means I shouldn't do that either?
