Been down there a few times dj'ing, but finally had a chance to really check out the island courtesy of my friend and PR native Leo and his wife the past week.

Had a freakin' blast! Saw the Caves, Old San Juan, swam in the waterfalls, hiked in the rainforest, chilled at the beach, drank like sailors, and ate like vikings. You can check out a few pics here:

Anyone else ever been down there? We're headed back down towards the end of the year, so if you've got some secret spots, lemme have at 'em

Oh, and check out Bebo's if you ever get down to San Juan. The pork hacked off the pig right there in front you of is just insanely good.

i'm puerto rican and my mother lives there, so i get down there about once a year. it's all right. i guess the rainforest was el yunque? i haven't been there since some of the hurricane-damaged areas have been fixed, but i keep hearing good things. some fucked up things have apparently happened in those rainforests late at night, so be careful.

one of my favorite eateries has slipped over the past few years, but still pretty worthwhile for a quick snack - la bombonera in old san juan. (and just down the street is what i've assumed is a, um, house of ill repute.)

i'll see what else i can think of between now and when you go again.

Also: Puerto Rico has legal cock-fighting.
