Damn, these fuckers WENT FOR IT!

This is just as good as their Seasons/Reign/South material. Finally they've delivered some back to basics thrash metal, embarrasing all of the new bands that are trying to play in this style.

Here ya go (DO NOT POST THIS ON OTHER BOARDS):

Slayer - Christ Illusion - 2006

I'd heard the three-track sampler... "Eyes of the Insane" was sorta meh, but the other two songs, sweet fancy Moses, Slayer totally wined me, dined me, and bent me over the hood of their car. Thank ye fo' the YSI!

Alright, downloading now. I wasn't totally sold on "Cult," but if it's really as awesome as Seasons, I'm there.

I've been diggin this album..The cover has been my wallpaper for a month. it's so ill..I don't know about best since Seasons(Divine was pretty good as I recall) but it is a return to their older style and sounds much better than GHUA and Diablos.

That's some great artwork. I can't wait to get over to my local Wal-Mart and pick it up.

The songs I've heard were all good, but everything I've read so far said the album sucks.

where'd ya read that? everyone i've spoken with that has heard it is loving their return to the basics. the only people i can see hatin' on it are those that want a more technical record, and less thrash influence [in other words, prog metal and screamo dorks].

One listen in and I like it a lot more than I was expecting to after hearing "Cult," which I thought was really really pretty heavy-handed and cheesy with the satanic stuff. It definitely sounds like a follow-up to SitA, moreso than anything else they've done since that album. I'm just not getting quite the natural feel of lurking menace that I got from their stuff up to and including SitA - whereas after that everything felt forced, like they wanted you to be scared of them, and while that's been toned down here and they let the music speak more, I still feel that they're trying too hard to be scary.

Regardless of some minor flaws, I'll definitely be buying it because this really does sound great.

i'm definitely buying this the day it's on sale.

agreed that Cult is cheesy lyrically, but you can't deny the riffs in that tune.

fav tracks on it at this point: Catatonic, Flesh Storm, Supremist

I listened to it today and thought it was fucking awesome. There were a couple of so-so songs but most of them killed. Favorite track is probably Consfearacy, though that's a really dumb name.

Cheapest price I've seen so far, already, is Best Buy, $9.99. Can't imagine anyone else will beat that.
