Gina's brother likes it, we hate it, and her parents hate it.

That's a wide demographic of people who hate it right there.

The dad and brother are all right. Someone shove socks in the mouths of the wife and mom please.

before or after she got the massive rack installed?

At least she seems nice in real life, as opposed to that b on King of Queens, Leah Remini. She is still pretty hot though. Not that I watch KOQ, but I remember Leah's Who's the Boss? and SBTB Summer Beach Club episodes.

haha. I remember her in both of those shows too. I think I've seen one episode of KOQ, but she definitely can play a 'b' well.

Raymond's wife is the Osco/Jewell spokeswoman here so I see her all the time. She's definitely one of the more attractive older women, jjust really annoying.

Why the fuck did it take this long for this show to go away, honestly?

And it's only going away now because Ray Romano and Co. decided they didn't want to do it anymore....honestly.

I don't think it's the worst show ever, but it is worthless. I can name at least 75 shows that I enjoy more, and I only watch about 2 hours of TV a week. Other than Arrested Development and occasionally Scrubs, I think that ALL current sitcoms are awful. I can picture kids watching shows like According to Jim and Becker (if that's still on), but do adults actually watch this trash?

Your e-meter reading just took a serious hit. I hope they don't audit and (anally) probe you, though. But, it could happen.

I've seen maybe 10 re-run episodes and they weren't terrible. It's like the same plot over and over. Ray's wife gets mad at him, and his dad makes fun of his mom. And his mom makes fun of the wife's cooking. Pretty boring.

I'm pretty sure it won't.

Never seen an episode in my life, and really have no desire to see one.

This thread was borderline as to whether I should post or not.

Who knew Everybody Loves Raymond was such a divisive issue.

you know what, I actually like Ray. But his show is pretty darn dull.

The only thing that came even CLOSE to replacing seinfeld for any amount of time was Drew Carey. And that was all thanks to Oswald and Lewis.

Now we have Arrested Development :)

Watching reruns of the Drew Carey show recently, it was a goofy goofy show. Not really in a good way, either.

The trouble with most of these sitcoms based on a comedian's stand-up material is they really only have the legs for a single season (if that). Both Raymond and Drew Carey were okay sitcoms when they first started out (and I'm qualifying entirely on the Radcliffian sitcom scale here, with the American version of Fawlty Towers as zero and, say, The Young Ones as ten). But a show like Raymond really only has one plot and, after you've seen it once, it gets lame mighty fast.

I guess it comes down to that original stand-up material. If a comedian's act is based entirely on his/her character, then the ensuing sitcom will be inevitably limited in situational possibilities. On the other hand, if a comedian's act is based on observing the world around his/her character (like, say, Seinfeld) then there's a near-bottomless well of possibilities.

Just Shoot Me was one of my guilty pleasures of the past decade. Every character was wonderful and it made very good use of David Spade. And who can forget David Cross as Donnie. :)
