So far this summer I have missed, or will miss (for various reasons) Damien Rice, Fiona Apple, David Garza, Guster and Ray LaMontagne, but dammit, I get to go to the Warped Tour.

Ummm... rock on?

I was thinking of going to this too but the only band I'd want to see is NOFX and maybe Joan Jett, so I really don't think it's worth it.

The whole outside-in-the-sun-the-entire-day-to-maybe-catch-one-or-two-bands-I'd-be-interested-in-seeing-but-only-if-they-don't-cross-into-the-bands-my-friend-wants-to-see-because-it's-really-her-trip thing isn't getting me all happy in the pants, but she's my friend and was worth the $40 ticket and time spent.

'98 Warped Tour was pretty ace. Don't ask me what's happened to it since then.

Word, Tanny.

I'm thinking this will be a decent write-up for Hip Displeasure, though.

buzzcocks have been getting favorable reviews on this latest tour. there're always a handful of good bands on it. i haven't been there since '99 (and before that, i was only at the first year in '95), though.

Was Social D there in 1997 or 1998? That's the year I went.

Social D, Mighty Mighty Bosstones and a very young (and very booed off the stage) Limp Bizkit.

Had to have been '97.

'98 included the like of...
Cherry Poppin Daddies
Less Than Jake
CIV
Bouncing Souls
Reverend Horton Heat
Deftones
Bad Religion
Ozomatli
Rancid
Pietasters
NOFX
The Specials

I'm sure I'm missing one or two, but it was pretty great.
