I think we could use some more David Bowie looking people again. I'd much rather see a variation of him or Roxy Music than I would The Darkness ripping off Queen.
If guys are going to wear girl's jeans, they might as well go for the whole androgyn to transvestite look.

dying your hair is fine. dying your hair blue and green and purple is passe. it wasn't stupid for about a week and a half.

I mean people listened to rock music and ate bread and wore shirts back then, so that means I shouldn't do that either?

don't be stupid, stupid.

and let me clue you in to something. i'm more than half your age and your correct initial response should have been, "piss off, gram-maw." the youth of today cannot even rebel properly. i'm sending you a box of safety pins as an apology.

in college i dyed my hair bright ass red, like mickey from lush. it's also been bluish and lavender. damn i loved the red! when i got lazy, i just kept it bleached blonde, almost white. but my hair is naturally black as a hole black, so dying it with #40-50 bleach was killing my hair. i got sick of the rubberband texture and the fact that it would never grow. also, the chemicals were effecting the scars on my scalp.

i dye my hair every once in awhile, usually black.

i did bleach my hair blonde once and it looked okay for about 3 days and then just looked sillly so i dyed it black and it came out kind of reddish-black, which looked kind of cool.

I died my hair jet black one time in college. All the brothers thought I looked like Elvis Presley. All my friends thought I had gone crazy, gay or goth.

I rather liked it, but eventually just let it grow out.

I dye my hair. All sorts of ridiculous colors. I like it. I also live in a city where it is not at all uncommon, and the only people who look at you funny are people who are from out of town; 'out of town' meaning from Podunkville, USA.

My hair is naturally boring-ass brown. Then I went to the salon and had boring-ass blonde highlights bleached in. Then I prompty went home and dyed the blonde streaks magenta. Before the magenta was blue. (I will say one good thing about the unnatural dyes is that they are semi-permanent creams, and don't destroy your hair. It's glorified food-grade dyes. Now, the bleaching on the other hand...)

Before the crazy colors were those boxes of Feria from the drugstore that I used every couple of weeks, usually either black or varying red shades. Hair is fun because it's the quickest, semi-permanent, also fixable/changable, change to yourself you can make. Cheaper than shopping, better for you than drinking, refreshing in a way. I use haircuts as a form of therapy.

Wow, who knew Paper was so conservative.

I think guys who dye their hair is fine...unless, it looks absolutely ludicrous. Take for instance the hateful client I recently had to deal with -- he's in his mid-70's, dyes his hair a brownish-red (same colour as mine). The dye job makes it look like he's wearing a toupee -- I have to stop myself from staring at him and wanting to pull on his hair to make certain it's real. Don't even get me started on the pancake makeup he wears to hide his age spots.
