He looks like Michael Jackson on this album (or Wayne Hussey):

That would be funny if when you get in the car today I take you somewhere far far away from Asheville.

I'm listening to Telephone Call from Istanbul right now and when the organ breaks in at the last few seconds of the song it's fucking incredible. I'd die to hear this song live just for that. The farfisa whatever whatever. I don't know what model so it's just a fucking organ to me.
Can you tell i'm excited? I have to go blow dry my hair!!

I was at the Atlanta show last night. Fucking awesome.

I've been trying to find a setlist from last night because I'm terrible at remembering those things. He started off with "Make It Rain" and then "Hoist That Rag". After that it gets fuzzy, but here's some of the other stuff I know he played, totally not in this order:

God's Away on Business
9th and Hennepin
Lucky Day
Blue Valentine
Heart Attack & Vine
Get Behind the Mule
House Where Nobody Lives
On the Day After Tomorrow
November
Trampled Rose
Murder in the Red Barn
Goin' Out West
Shore Leave
Singapore

I'll try to think of more later, or maybe somebody will post a complete list on a blog or something. He played for nearly two hours.

He has too many damn songs. There were tons of songs I wanted to hear but didn't, but I can't really complain. He could've played another 2 hours and still not played them all.

And yes, he played "Hoist That Rag". But if you didn't see it in my first post, you probably won't notice it here, either.

i don't care what he plays. he could sing the barney theme song over and over and i'd think it was the best thing i've ever seen.

Oh, and he didn't actually play "Johnsburg, Illinois". My mistake. He did play "Don't Go into that Barn". My advice to anyone going to any of his other shows on this tour would be to brush up on Real Gone. He played a decent amount of it.

I was just talking to another guy at work about the show. We were both struck by just how great of a performer he was. He was really energetic, and his voice was perfect.

I'm seeping jealousy. Not that I've listened to him much lately, nor have had the opportunity to feel yet like I'm missing something. But, fuck, wouldn't it be nice to see a show as exciting as this sounds.

If they bring back Shining Time Station, Waits needs to be the host.

I'm so fucking stupid for not buying tickets to the show at the Ryman. I'm not even that big of a fan of the guy, but I'm a HUGE fan of live music.
