i didn't get into Throb Throb as much as the other albums. maybe that's because I was weaned solely on Jettison and All Rise. I just listened to Throb Throb for the first time in the past year.

Those are better albums.
But there are a few gems on Throb Throb, such as the above song, "Rat Patrol" and "Metastasis".

well worth having.

naked raygun is the big rumor as the last band at touch & go's anniversary party, now that it's pretty much known that it won't be the jesus lizard. i think most or all of the original lineup will be there playing in other bands. and, even though naked raygun wasn't actually on touch & go, their association with quarterstick, which touch & go now owns, may be enough to pull them back.

YES!
I knew I was forgetting the main guy.
He actually responded to an ad that my old punk band placed in the Reader when we were looking for a new drummer. Never even got to jam with him though. Bummer. He would have been perfect for the band that recorded this song:

so, it seems that they are, in fact, reuniting... for riot fest in november and not the touch & go festival in september.

on touch & go's website:

Chicago's annual Riot Fest organizers recently announced the lineup they've culled for this year's festivities to be held at the Congress Theatre in Chicago on Saturday, November 5. Listed amid a number of reunion acts (Blue Meanies, The Bollweevils) is Chicago's very own Naked Raygun.

Think about it: 2006 brings a Naked Raygun show (the first since 1997, I think) and, before you see them at the Riot Fest, you can catch ex-Naked Raygunners, Pegboy, at Touch and Go's 25th Anniversary. Be careful what you wish for; this one came true.

In addition to the reunited groups, Naked Raygun will be sharing the Riot Fest bill with Adicts, the Misfits, the Toasters, the Business, UK Subs and many others. For more information on additional lineup announcements, ticket sales and the like, check out riotfest.org.
