I would love to hear these since I know very little about either, other than that I'm interested.

i'd be interested in doing this... but not sure what bands/artists i'd do. if some of you want to delve into electronic/dance music, that's more up my alley so if there's interest in that, i'll participate.

I'd like to hear these. Possibly Giant Sand, too, although I've sorta started listening to them already.

My two top preferencs would be Cocteau Twins or Elliott Smith.

Others that I would consider doing would be Lida Husik, Cotton Mather, Martin Newell or Roy Harper. But again, my preferences would be easiest because they are sort of the two that make me a lot of who I am (which sounds silly, geekish and naive, I know). I would have said Stereolab but saw someone else listed it above.

oh yeah, i could totally do a pavement mix. i'd be more interested in seeing someone else's "best of", though.

I don't think that should stop anybody from listing the ones they want to do. I might not end up doing a Stereolab mix after all.

Also, I might like to hear a Cocteau Twins mix.

This sounds pretty cool and is probably a better idea for artists that people especially don't know about, or lack accessible introductions too. I got tons of Smiths/Morrissey but with the number of singles/best of comps that are out there it seems redundent. I could do Stooges or VU, but who the hell hasn't heard the necessary tracks from those bands given their small release history. I'll throw in, but I could only legitimately do The Tragically Hip or maybe Sloan or Concrete Blonde, and seeing as there's maybe three fans on the board it seems moot. Other artists in my collection meeting near capacity in terms of catalogue and acquaintance:

Neil Young (non-Decade would be a prereq)
Yo La Tengo
Stereolab

I'd also like to hear the Buffalo Tom mix and maybe an Urge Overkill. And definitely Loog's Bad Stones mix.
