Hell yeah, Inspiral Carpets. I loved them when I was a wee girl.

I've never heard the Go-Betweens.

Somebody needs to do this one if Radcliffe isn't.

I messed with my Can mix a little last night. About 90% of it is definite, but I keep switching out early and late period stuff. I think I'm gonna go with my origianl idea and pretty much leave off the late period stuff altogether in favor of early Malcolm Mooney stuff.

And since there really isn't much more for me to do with that one, I'd like to make a new mix for this. I figure a lot of people will have no interest in a Can mix so I want to do something really different in addition to that. Maybe Songs:Ohia/MEC or Silver Jews.

I keep wanting to make a "maybe a dumb idea: remixes" thread.

But I won't.

That would be "Usually a dumb idea: remixes".

Or "Always a dumb idea: parody threads".

I could probably do, if it's not too late:

The Only Ones*
The Chameleons (at least the first few albums)
Dinosaur Jr.
The Clean/David Kilgour/other incarnations
Gorky's Zygotic Mynci
Scud Mtn Boys/Pernice Bros
The Zephyrs

*preferred choice

rparis, why don't we just post the YSIs in this thread? Then anybody can download anything they want.

Or create a thread in the mix forum exclusively for band comps - and then people can post all the comps for all the bands they feel like making whenever they feel like making them.

I dunno - it seems we might be micro-managing this thing to death.

Hey rparis----

As one of the only other Richmond Fontaine fans on the board, I'll get in on this too if you're going to do the Go-Betweens.

truly sage wisdom

but srsly, yeah lets just do band comps, post the tracklisting here with a link or a PM if we cant post links, and let people download whatever they want

requests can be filled first, otherwise people can just make a mix of whatever band they want

I don't see myself finding time to actually do this in the next 8 weeks so I guess I'm out of this...if anyone wants to do Lee Hazlewood...go ahead...if not I'll shoot to do one anyway sometime in the next 6 months based on the interest. I just don't see myself finding the time anytime soon.
