Tonight: Dinner at gf's workplace (The Free Friday Filet as it were), then home to watch Falcons/Patriots preseason game. Hope/pray that no one gets hurt.

Saturday: cut grass, misc. house shit, then up to Atlanta for dinner and an art show opening at Foundation One that my buddy Hassler is curating:

Seven artists from throughout the nation with a common background in “street art” have assembled for this exhibit; each brings something unique and lasting to the milieu. As the artists have grown and matured, each has become aware of what he can offer to a wider audience. The bodies of work today reflect a more mature outlook and are moving in new directions. They are moving beyond the confining social aspects of the graffiti culture and of their origins, but at the same time remaining aware of their inspirations and past. Hence, they are remembering their origins as they move forward.

Sunday: Going to my nephew's first birthday party. Wire, Entourage, Lucky Louie at night.

what can I say? It involves running around and hitting stuff (people included - I did an awesome, though accidental, bodycheck on a defender on the weekend) with the encouragement of excessive drinking. What could be better?

Not a fan of the 1.6km fitness tests though...

That Hassler thing looks cool, Kurtz. Hopefully he'll make it

For thr first weekend since 4th of July, I don't have anywhere to go, and no one to see. So, I get to CLEAN!! We have pretty well abandoned housework since before then, so the place looks like shit, and we gotta get stuff organized for the move.

Weekend prolly looks like this:
Today: Work. There's a candidate forum in Bombingha, at 2, so, though I have to go, my day effectively is over around noon. Come home, prolly cook dinner and then go see Vice, Clerks II or Ricky Bobby, depending on mood, but I am leaning towards Vice.

Saturday: The aforementioed clean-a-thon. Then go help a buddy bottle beer. Saturday Night, I have no plans, and don't care to make any.

Sunday: prolly some more cleaning/arrainging, mid afternoon MONG sesh, and then the Lineup.

Today: Go in to the university and watch the paint dry. Probably go for a pint or two this afternoon. Then back here for dinner where we're gonna cook up Chuck D's Hellenic Orecchiette with some bread and Rossi. Then probably watch a movie or something.

Sat: Nothing really, gonna grill up some pork burgers.

Sun: Going to see Wolf Parade/Frog Eyes.

Always one of the best nights in Athens, GA. They used to waive the open container laws, and you could booze in the streets, while watching bikers careen into stack of hay at upwards of 25 miles and hour.

Last one I remember was a complete disaster personally, involving "too many women and too many pills."

Yeah, I never went to the one in Athens, but I've heard great things about it. I just love standing on the sidewalk and feeling the air move as the peloton whooshes past. Dem boys go FAST.

Yeah, 25 mph my ass, more like 35 or 40. Those were some of the best nights by far in Athens especially when we had these friends who had a huge loft right on the race route and who would throw serious parties.

Tonight The Walkmen and Bobby Bare, Jr. are going to play at a local cheesy Omni hotel nightclub. This should be interesting. I wonder if it will be full of people from their usual "country" or "singles" night or if any of the older folks will come out expecting to see the local bands that have been playing nightclubs since the 1970s. I'm kind of disgusted that the whole thing is an advertisement for Camel cigarettes -- still, I'm there (rest of weekend to consist of lots of relaxing).

A man after my own heart. :)

I have similar plans. There never seems to be enough sleep for me these days. I'm such a narcoleptic/sloth/lazy cat.

Apart from sleep, I'm hoping the weekend will include:

- bringing my bass in for repairs, maybe my keyboard too.
- brunch
- drawing
- very little social interaction... as every weekend has been really busy these days and I need a frickin break from humans (apart from my man, of course).

Tonight: going down to some free shows at the Harbourfront... some guy from CA named Nino Moschella. Anyone got any RIYL or comments about him?

i forgot about watermelon festival, but i'm not sure why she's so excited about it. it's 4 blocks from my house and i'll still probably miss most of it. although i forgot that my friend is having a going-away party at the roller skating rink on saturday, i haven't been rollerskating in something like 20 years. should be embarassing, if i had any pride left.
