Yeah, things are not going well, even in games where they should (tonight, esp. last night's LOB fest, Sunday), but it's August and I don't plan to pick a spot on the Tobin this or any season in the near future (through at least '09).

(but, if Tek stays out through mid-Sept, it's not looking good...the pitching staff lives and dies with this guy, esp. the younger guys)

Look at the brightside, they're still only three games back of the Yankees and 2.5 games back in the Wildcard.
As a Cards fan, I'm happy they have a 3.5 game lead on the Reds, but I'd be a lot happier if they were further ahead of their division like the Tigers and Mets.
It's only sad and pretty funny that the Red Sox got swept by a team that is 32 games under .500.

Well, except that whole rundown thing on Wednesday. That was pretty much the antithesis of kickin' ass (aside from the Red Sox play in general, of course).

I was sayin' on one of the Royals boards I frequent last nite that if there wasn't some HARDCORE ass-chewing in the Sawx clubhouse after that game, something is seriously wrong.

Holy crapski...Pena cranked a couple in that series. I heard the one that cleared the left field GA seats actually hit a dude who was standing at the concession stand in the back.

it would have except the royals have outfield seating, one ball cleared the fountain and almost the entire stadium though.

The one I'm talking about was earlier in the series...there's a gap between the back row of the left field outfield seats & the snack bar behind 'em. That homer landed in between the 2. And plunked a dude, from what I hear.

Those seats used to be General Admission, & $7 believe it or not. Now they're only $10 if I rememeber right...haven't sat there in awhile.

Actually, you can still get $7 seats. They're top deck, on each end...& they're really not bad seats at all. That's one of the nice things about the "K" - great sight lines pretty much anywhere. And after a few innings you can always go down to the bottom deck & snag a better seat, anway.

They also have a bus route called the Royals Express that's flat-out stupid cheap. It's a round trip ticket out to the stadium & back that costs $5, then when you get there you show your bus ticket & they take $5 off your game ticket. So if you get one of those $7 tickets I mentioned before, it's $2. That's right - a ticket to the game AND round trip transportation is friggin' $7 total.

that is a sweet deal. however, you pay for it when you are in kc for the other 364 days of the year.
