I just listened to his new album today. I thought it was going to be some shitty commercial crap but it's actually pretty good.

RIYL: Marah, Ryan Adams "Gold"

Bethamphetamine (Pretty Pretty)

butch walker is pretty awesome. this might be the best solo album he's had, been listening to it a lot lately. it's just a lot of fun.

I was looking at this today. All the song titles seemed to be too self-referential, but I gotta admit I'm a little interested to hear it.

Trivia note: Butch Walker is the music director of RockStar: Supernova.

I've never been able to get into his solo or M3 stuff, even though it falls right into my "sweet spot" genre-wise. He always comes off a little too corporate for me.

I like this a lot. Totally not what I was expecting from the guy who's produced Avril Lavigne, Lindsay Lohan, and Tommy Lee. Clips of the rest of the album on Amazon, and his other albums, sound promising.

I really want to hear this, so if I can get a pm from anyone, I would appreesh greatly. I recently got the second M3 album and his first solo if anyone wants it.

Uh, DJ, it's in currently hurtling through space and time in that shipment I sent.

Listened to this a little yesterday. Seemed a little contrived to me. But I'll give it a little more time.

I like it a lot - I think it's purposely contrived, in a way. Like, tongue-in-cheek, "how over-the-top grossly glam 70s can I get?" It just feels sleazy and nasty, but intentionally so for effect. I think I like Letters more, in general, however.

I hate the term "glam".

I also hate "emo", but more because I have never been able to pin down what it really means, except it leaves me with the impression of "mopey".

*bump*

I've just gotten into him this weekend. A co-worker gave me 2 albums (literally gave them to me since he put them on his ipod...is this the new norm?), and I've been eating them up. Left of Self-Centered & The Rise and Fall of...Very cool, straight-up fun rock.
