Yeah, I passed on that one and the Go-Betweens one because they weren't mp3s.

reading comprehension

they are mp3s

Well, I didn't feel like downloading a brand new program just to extract some songs. Especially since it's a band I only have a passing interest in, anyway.

And the G-B's were .m4a files, I believe.

only a couple were m4a - 15 or 16 were mp3

Okay, so here's the techtarded question from yours truly.

I have 18 tracks in a zip. But I want to sequence them.

I've done plenty of sequencing when burning cds (since you can drag and drop within the burning programs) but don't know how to do it within a file that I'm going to send out.

As dumb-sounding as that is, I still need the question answered.

Or I can just sendspace the zip with the files in alphabetical order.

Just rename the filenames to:
01 - blah blah
02 - yadda yadda
03 - this track is number three

etc.

Kate Bush - Barred & Bolted

1. Get Out Of My House (The Dreaming, 1982)
2. Mother Stands For Comfort (Hounds Of Love, 1985)
3. The Man With The Child In His Eyes (The Kick Inside, 1978)
4. Night Of The Swallow (The Dreaming, 1982)
5. Army Dreamers (Never Forever, 1980)
6. Rocket's Tail (The Sensual World, 1989)
7. Sat In Your Lap (The Dreaming, 1982)
8. James And The Cold Gun (Live At The Hammersmith Odeon, 1981)
9. Breathing (Never Forever, 1980)
10. Violin (Never Forever, 1980)
11. Mrs. Bartolozzi (Aerial, 2005)
12. Big Stripey Lie (The Red Shoes, 1993)
13. The Wedding List (Never Forever, 1980)
14. The Song Of Solomon (The Red Shoes, 1993)
15. Watching Me Without You (Hounds Of Love, 1985)
16. Un Baiser D'Enfant (French/Canadian single, 1983)
17. The Fog (The Sensual World, 1989)
18. Under The Ivy (b-side to Running Up That Hill, 1985)

I could do a volume 2 sometime, since there's nothing from Lionheart or her early recordings here, and nothing from her various collaborations.

If I'm feeling ambitious later, I'll post lyrics in the mix forum.

No offense but some of you are pretty lazy.

I've downloaded at least two now where the tracks weren't numbered or ordered in any discernible way.

I even included lyrics with mine.

I should do a Blue Nile mix sometime this week. Though, since they only have four albums with just 33 songs on them, any mix would cover half their output, unless I tracked down rarities.

Just loaded three tracks from each of the Blue Nile cds. I'll look around for 3 of the best b-sides or outtakes to round out the mix instead of posting 4 songs from each album. Should have it up by tomorrow.

So , apparently Bloor is putting up a competing mix that will show you why people slag the latter-period Stones. These are good songs from overlooked albums:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/ztz4eb

One Hit to the Body -- Dirty Work
Rough Justice -- Bigger BAng
Cherry Oh Baby -- Black and Blue
Luxury -- It's Only Rock and Roll
Hang Fire -- Tattoo You
She Was Hot -- Undercover
She's So Cold -- Emotional Rescue
All the Way Down -- Undercover
Tops -- Tattoo You
Blinded by Rainbows -- Voodoo Lounge
Wanna Hold You -- Undercover
Thief in the NIght -- Bridges to Babylon
Slipping Away -- Steel Wheels
Mixed Emotions -- Steel Wheels
Emotional Rescue -- Emotional Rescue
Saint of Me -- Bridges to Babylon
Neighbours -- Tattoo You

Enjoy, and remember, if you are playing this in your car, to vomit out the window, not on your front seat.

So I decided to get in on the fun. I put together a Seafood mix (English indie rock, buzzing guitars, riyl Pavement, Sonic Youth, Dino Jr). And I'm trying to upload with Sendspace, but it's been FOREVER and it's still at 0%. Do I need to open some ports on my router or something? (I gave ysi a shot and had the same problem)

Also, I'd love to hear these:

Yo la Tengo
Teenage Fanclub
Massive Attack

I finally got around to uping my Monroe Mustang mix

link: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=FEBE5EBE512E2AB3

If you're unfamiliar, they were an Austin, TX band that released 2 singles, 3 EPs and 1 album from 1996-2000, mostly on Trance Syndicayte or, after that label's demise, on Jagjaguwar.

I've been a big fan of them since I heard one of their songs ("The Bees") on a Trance Syndicate sampler back in '98. Plain Sweeping Themes For the Unprepaired, their only LP, is one of my all time favorites. It's a shame they never garnered much attention and are now virtually forgotten. Even in their hometown, no one seems to remember them. Their music is slow and lethargic and takes repeated listens to get into, also they were no great shakes live, all of which might have contributed to their lack of popularity.

One of them went on to play in The Pilot Ships, with one of the guys from Stars of the Lid, but aside from that none of them have released any music for years. I think 3 or 4 of them work for the Austin Chronicle now.

stylisticaly, codeine, rex, and bedhead are good landmarks.

if nothing else, listen to #6 The Bees, it and #3 are probably their best songs. Both of them have been stuck in my head for about 8 years now.

Tracklist:
01. Dee
02. Waking Up
03. Elephant Sound
04. We Aren't the Stars
05. The Ford Chevy Debate
06. The Bees
07. Wusses
08. TN (Spirit of the Wild)
09. Cat/Moth
10. Weren't Gone
11. Candidate
12. Lie
13. Overplayed
14. Vinyl
15. Uninspired
16. Mountain
17. Veronica
18. Spirits of Unfreedom
19. Your Shapeless Head
20. (I was) Eighteen (It Was Hate)
21. Waiting
22. Opus 11.11

Didn't someone do this? I thought I remembered seeing one for a bit then it disapeared. Is it still being updated? Can someone post a link to it?
