Any obners catch the 2 Tom Waits shows in Akron and Cleveland last night? I went to the Akron show and sat a few rows behind Jim Jarmusch and then cut out a song early and hoofed it 45 minutes to Cleveland and caught him at the House Of Blues. He went on around 1:15 and played till 3:10. The hour and a half ride home was rough and the 6am work alarm sucked ass but it was cool to see Waits up close in a GA setting. I did hear that Jarmusch had a few people filming the House Of Blues show for an upcoming project. He was perched in the VIP loge. All in all it was a good time. I'm staying home until the Church and Rob Dickinson show on Thursday night cause I'm beat. I'm getting too old for this hipster shit.

I was out-of-town when he played Chicago last week.
Damn, I would have loved to have seen him, though.
But yeah, I'm getting too old for the hipster scene, too.
I take that back... I AM too old for it.

Still... damn, I envy you.

I went to the Chicago show last Wednesday. It was a really good show except my tickets weren't very good.

everything in the details of my life, and in Wait's art, says I should be his hugest fan. I have never, never been able to listen to more than one song all the way through....

he's strong medicine. I can't get enough though, but I try not to force him on anyone. I can see how plenty of people can't stomach him.

I falter with his Island and later catalogue. Swordfish I can take in doses, but it gets real dicey after that. His Asylum catalogue, OTOH, is dreamy.
