sorry for this hijack, but the Connie thread was deleted and chase had posed the question as to what people found that was so mysoginstic in that thread?

Was it mysogynistic because of the subject matter? It's an article in a nationally published music mag. Was is bad because of the rock star's behavior?

This is a person who I actively sought out these people to engage in that sort of behavior and enjoyed it. I think she feels she is very liberated.

I don't think anyone actually thinks that the defiling of women is something to laugh at but I think this case is different.

Like I said earlier, I didn't find the thread offensive myself, but someone else on this board did. Someone who felt upset enough to post about it. If that's the case, then I think we should've all been a bit more sensitive to that person's feelings instead of making jokes about it. Just sayin'.

Was it really necessary to delete that thread? Sure there was a bit of mudslinging, but it seemed to be staying afloat with a sense of humor. Is Obner that intent on remaining blandly polite?

Gotta disagree with ya here. I think that's a bush league move. If I'm going too far, PM me and we can discuss it like adults.

I missed everything because I was at work so I don't know the details of that thread but sometimes this place is a little bit too Oprah Winfrey and not enough Jerry Springer.

OH SNAP.

But isn't you making comments like that a bit hypocritical in relation to this thread?

Hey, I have my limits too. I say, if you can dish it out, prepare to take it.

Thing is, it's not the first time, Chris.
Say all you want about my band. You don't like us. Fine.
Point is, you're a hypocrite.
And you've proven it time and again.
If you're gonna be high and mighty, don't wallow in the mud.

EDIT: This is my last comment on the topic, I promise. Okay, Chris... time for you to berate me some more and insult my band.

I go to get something to eat and my thread gets DELETED?

A) That shit was funny (at least to me, and really that's all that matters

B) I fucking said it was NSFW and "More Mongerous than Monty" if you people need more of a warning, then stay away from power lines, kids.

C) Those are joke terms that Benny Bloor and I have been using forever. I'm sure you think it's fine to talk about us as "frat boy cavemen" because of the power structure in this world not allowing the downtrodden to be reverse discriminatory, but that's yr. hypocrisy.

D) That shit had been funny!!

I'd like to point out that the prospect of discussing 'like adults' didn't seem evident in your comments, and that if I am going to reply to someone who is attacking me publically you can be damn sure I will do it publically.

Also, apology accepted. Though I don't consider it a low blow as such, I just find it really funny that the first insult to hand when you think a woman is being a pain is to suggest that she might be - gasp - unmarried! of all things.

Actually, that's your incorrect assumption.

I need to get some stuff done (if only I were married maybe then I would be free of such drudgery! Right, married ladies?), so don't expect public replies to any potenitally pending public insults for a while.

I'm talking bout old Channel 9 in Secaucus Richard Bey, the Richard Bey that replaced Howard Stern's old show, not the add-as-many-sound-effects-as-we-can Richard Bey in syndication.

Look...
We are all friends here.
Friends in close quarters.
When you are squished together like we are, there are bound to be tensions.
Whatever.
If you wanna stick around you learn to deal.

I had to google Richard Bey. Only from that did I find out he jumped the shark when he went into syndication. So, Kung Fu, your opinion seems to be shared if not entirely correct concerning the beginning of Bey's demise.

He was much more of a train wreck after the syndication. On Channel 9 he was trying to pick up where Stern left off, and it was still out of control and moronic, but slightly less so. The "Mooo" sound effects and such just got to be too much in his dying days.

EDIT: The Stern Show on Channel 9 was the best show my 8th grade year could have ever hoped for. RIP.

Oh now I'm totally offended...you can do better than that, Todd, but I guess Matt wasn't around to write your response for you.

You wanna be an asshole, Todd, be one, but if you're gonna try to provoke me, expect a comeback. You're one of those passive-aggressive pussies who try to push peoples' buttons and then turn around and cry foul when people push back. People on this board may think you're all innocent and shit but you're a prick behind the scenes and have been for a while. As far as I'm concerned, you can kiss my ass.
