you're nuts not to take a free trip halfway around the world for free!

and drinking in nY is a little more, erm, lax, than most places.

Seriously, it's New York. Take the money (or ticket) and run with it. I mean really, Brisvegas or NY?

And it'll be like anywhere - there'll be heaps of places where they don't check.

If you don't do it I'll come up to Brisbane and put you on the plane myself...Or just take the ticket for my own use...

EDIT: didn't see your last post before I replied, but still, I'm sure that through the collective wisdom of the NY obners you'll be fine and have a great time

yeah, I got into more bars in NY without ID than anywhere else in the country. with the exception of an american legion post or two.

I went back when I was 20. (Have been back since) and it was AWESOME. You can buy beers from most corner stores and shit no probs, sneak into bars, or go to Yankee stadium and end up chiefin a blunt with 2 Puerto Ricans in the upper deck, cos they like your accent.

Plus, I mean, ITS NEW YORK!!

NYC is wicked. And I'm sure you'll find a way to partake in some of the fun.

Just don't be silly and go and buy pot off the street; last I heard it's gotten much harder to do and... they're cracking down on it, (to be confirmed by actual NYCers).

no doubt from an alcohol related accident. lush.

seriously though. As everyone has pretty much said already, there is tons to do in NYC so I think that the availability of alcohol is probably not the highest priority when visiting there. At least I don't think it should be. It's a great city with a handful of great people, some of whom are Obners. Do it.
