Despite my apparent advertisement for NPR, this is actually a YSI request.

So they were talking about this band called The Heartless Bastards that used to do pretty much lofi blues induced rock. However, they're new album, which I can't remember the title of anymore (i think it's All This Time) sounds pretty dog gone good. I am not sure if it has officially been released yet. I haven't searched too deeply. Anyone on here listen to them? Anyone wanna up the album for me if they have it? Remember to consider all things before upping any illegal copies. thanks.

Ah, hell, maybe I'll just download it from eMusic instead of buying the tangible.

I only have seven of the ten tracks from their new album, but once through them and I thought it was pretty dull. Huge disappointment for me, since I loved their first one.

I just decided to listen again to confirm my disdain.

Mean Chase, thanks for the link to the other thread

TOK= NPR was saying how they drastically changed their sound from what they sounded like before. They're like more spacey or something is what they said. They played clips of three songs and they all sounded like something I would like. Maybe I should enlist the help of Timis here.

I guess you could call it spacey, but really I think all they did was drown out her voice with over-production. And her voice was my favorite part of their band.

I think what initially caught me was that the first track on the album she really sounds like Chan Marshall to me. At least initially. And, considering that I only heard about a minute of the song, I really can't be held to that comparison. But I liked it. I am definitely interested in hearing the whole album.

I wouldn't mind having the first one either but it didn't sound as much like something that I would like compared to the tidbits of the newest one.

weird I just got an email from Fat Possum saying everything in the cat was on sale except this. I guess it is their current push.
