Ha, I'm surprised we haven't gotten called out for having band practice at my latest house. Of course, our neighbors are way laid back and mostly our age, so that helps a bit. Hell, 3 different roommates have used their rooms as recording studios over the past month and I walk around in the yard with my acoustic singing folk songs and howling at the moon when I'm a few drinks past sober.

That's part of what's weird about it... we live in a really nice neighbourhood (pls note: we rent and have roommates).

ah the problem isnt the neighborhood per se, but the proximity of the neighbors along with the cheap price of subwoofers and ubiquity of shared foundations in apartment buildings.

someone more mathematically inclined should write out the function equation.

In my case this would be:
"... the proximity of the neighbors along with the cheap price of alcohol and the ubiquity of shared INSANITY in the apartments across the street."

i half-awoke this morning at 5:30 to the sound of one of my neighbors yelling from their fire escape. just like "fuck you!!" and other random drunkenness. 5:30am!

then i woke up sometime in the 6am hour to my upstairs neighbor's rumblings. this girl is, like, 5'4" and pretty tiny, so i know it's not just her. it sounds like she just bought a clydesdale. i finally actually get out of bed and still hear her from the shower. i heard glass breaking, things fallings, and lots of noise. i was like, "what the fuck is going on? it is 7am!" i heard more noise coming from the stairs outside my door, like someone was tearing plastic - could not figure this out at all. it turns out she's moving and they're taping the boxes in the hallway.

oh, and the guys across the hall who were yelling at 5:30 were now yelling from inside their apartment when i left at 7:30.

Sad. That sucks.

Btw, do not underestimate the strength and potential noisiness of 5'4".
