Samuel L. Jackson interview on Countdown w/ Olbermann, tonite. I'll be watching.

But, I'd rather be seeing snakes on Monica Novotny (the interviewer). Erotic that would be, mon ami.

i cannot believe we are ONLY ONE DAY AWAY!!! the one thing that makes me nervous is that there could be a copycat crime wave, making it dangerous for me to fly. you see, i have reviewed the list of prohibited items on commercial flights and the authorities have failed to include deadly snakes. once bad guys get a look at how effective deadly snakes can be at causing disruption to transportation systems, i think they will have no choice but to at least see if it works as well in real life. consider also that bad guys who live in the southeast, the southwest, and the midwest have excellent access to both rattlesnakes and copperheads, resulting in a criminal operation costing only the price of a coach ticket. the movie could not come at a worse time because i am planning some air travel this fall. i guess it isn't too late to cancel my vacation though.

i think you have nothing to fear from snakes. it's the slugs on a plane i would watch out for. that oozing trail of slime could provide hazardous when walking in shoes without antislip soles.

Colin and I had a "snakes on a plane?" "snakes on a motherfuckin' plane!" moment in Newbury Comics after seeing the soundtrack.

That is all.

Awesome. Simply awesome. And not in the '90s use of the word, I mean coming out of the theater holdin your arms over your head only able to say "woah" to your friends awesome.

Yeah, I concur. They dont waste any time dramatizing anything, thats for sure. And the snakes totally kick ass, in a "if snakes were ferocious velocirapti-gator-type things"

Its kind of a cross between Airplane and (insert bad Harrison Ford movie here).

Only with snakes.

Edit: and the band that does the atrocious song/video at the end of the movie is called (yes) Cobra Starship.

I'd say it's about 18,000 different kinds of awesome.
Everything it needed to be, when it needed to be — campy in the right spots, gory as hell, legitmate tension and fright, the snakes were off-the-meatrack evil and Sam. L was Sam L. Nuff said.

Hype and buzz aside, it's a well-done, really fun action/thriller/horror movie that never aspires to be anything more than it is but never settles into cheese either.
