I'm thinking a 3-2 split in Boston's favor. Which won't get them the division, but will get some respect.

I'm most worried about the Sox starting Jason Johnson in the 2nd game of the doubleheader on Friday. They should use Snyder and Breslow instead.

Also, Boston reportedly just signed Eric Hinske and Carlos Pena. Don't know what they gave up yet.

Hinske...if he turns it around, woah. If not, eh. Hey remember when JD Drew was on the team? That seems so long ago...

The thinking on starting Johnson is that the MFYs are starting Ponson in the 2nd game and Snyder has been tagged as a long relief guy (particularly useful with the schedule like it is this weekend). It's a toss-up btwn Ponson and Johnson...who's gonna be worse?

john 'mo' lester in the 2nd game is a disaster. that yankee lineup is going to work him for 5-8 walks.

Jesus. Yanks drive 80 yards for a TD in the 7th?

I can't believe the Red Sox gave up seven runs in the seventh with the 10-7 lead they had. They have been looking sorry lately, this might be worse than getting swept by the Royals.

we were just on lansdowne street to see a friend's band play. A little piece of my heart just died. But as a sox fan, I am used to it.

In a few minutes this will officially be the longest nine inning game in MLB history.

At 11:30. Is it over yet?

Ortiz got a 9th inning homerun and Mariano did the rest to end the game.

Even when it doesn't win the game he gets a last minute homerun, off Riveria no less. Damn.

Go Yanks.

I adore Milky and fear what's going to happen to him when Matsui and Sheffield come back. He's upping his trade value every day, but I do not want him to go. Please, Cashman, I know you've got an entire team of outfielders, but don't make Milky go away.

It's Melky, not Milky, unless you are joking or that is his pet name, then carry on.
