You can keep your later day ennui-laden "career performances"

Give me Big Ern McCracken or HST

"I finally have enough money to buy my way out of anything! Big Ern McCracken is above the law!"

Ghostbusters was probably my favorite movie as a kid, and I can still watch it and laugh my ass off. Of course, Venkman was my favorite.

I also love:

- Houndhog Day
- Scrooged

He's been one of my favorite actors since elementary school. Even as a kid I totally loved his cynical, sarcastic attitude.

'The Man Who Knew Too Little' is an underrated classic. I caught it on tv recently for the first time and he's gold in it.

You could. I'm a cheapskate. I'd just wait for City-tv to play it again. Although it's usually on at three in the afternoon or something.

More from Tripper:

But, the real excitement of course is going to come at the end of the summer, during Sexual Awareness week. We import two hundred hookers from around the world, and each camper, armed with only a thermos of coffee and two thousand dollars cash, tries to visit as many countries as he can. The winner of course is named King of Sexual Awareness week and is allowed to rape and pillage the neighboring towns until camp ends.

Interesting in the change in male leading men in comedies from most of these movies to the last ten years. The biggies today are all of the man-child persuasion. None of that wit, coolness, and sarcasm of prime Murray.

I blame Sandler and the gazillion rubes that have piled into his movies.

This was the inspiration of the thread. My brother in law was saying something and I yelled at him "Down Bronco This One's Mine!" and we went off on a Buffalo Roam tangent.

You Remember Billy, right?
