I may want to escape Vermont, but when you live in a place where you see a guy limping down the street and the free public transit bus just stops to see if he wants a ride, that's pretty cool.

I picked up the Submarines disc mainly because I liked the cover and it's damn good. I'm recommending. RIYL: the Stars.

Chatting with drunken former crushes is slightly jaw dropping and hilarious (at least in my case).

Saving money for the West Coast trip is going well and it's only a month away. Fantastic.

Ish, I like the new Comets on Fire.

i've been revisiting my love for modest mouse this weekend. i'm sitting in the corner of my room doing absolutely NOTHING and it feels great.

rooftop parties + matthew dear + hot techno boys + whiskey= good times.

i hate fleas. i look like i have a serious case of the chicken pox. BOO.

Minutemen's "The Roar Of The Masses Could Be Farts" needs to be a theme song to a Showtime series or something.

I'm doing nothing today. DO YOU HEAR ME?...NOTHING.

I've been off of work for the past week, recovering from a work-related injury and the sum total of the last seven days has been:

1. Transferring music off the hard drive and on to CD-R's.
2. Watching episodes of The Shield on DVD
3. Sleep
4. Reading recent issues of the New Yorker
5. Laundry
6. Weed-pulling in the yard
7. Taking medicine
8. Obner

repeat ad nauseum.

Where did my Sunday go? I slept until 12:45, watched the Cubs game, slept until 6:30, now I'm just drinking beer and wasting time until HBO shows.

I've tried to like Placebo a number of times and just find them boring.

Now when I hear Submarines 'Darkest Things" I'm gonna picture Blake Hazard taking swigs of Listerine.

I just got back from a trip to Best Buy (<-- had some gift cards lying around) and ended up snagging the new Hot Snakes live album and an HD tuner card for my computer.

I'm working today and had to cover an event at a nature center called "The Scoop On Poop."
This is what I got a degree in journalism for. Six years ago I was flying on Air Force Two, interviewing Al Gore during a presidential campaign and read one of my columns on NPR's "All Things Considered".

Today - fox scat.

I'm living the dream.

I installed a new toilet in the upstairs bathroom earlier today, but so far nobody has christened it. We've been using the downstairs bathroom for so long, we automatically head down there when nature calls. Habit dictates behaviour.

I can't drink a tequila sunrise without wanting to murder Don Henley.
