I think it's been down for a couple of months now. I'm starting to miss the old girl. I wonder if this has anything to do with Thom Yorke, er, I mean timmyjoe42 becoming a moderator? Thanks in advance.

I dunno, Nick. I haven't been there in awhile expect to read a few articles on the site.

Gave up on it quite awhile ago when CMJ didn't do anything to improve it.

Man, I'm disappointed to hear about the CMJ forums going under...that place was my main source for opportunities to make big $$$.

Granted, most of us abandoned the site, but it had major issues before we did that.

The only people who don't think so probably also think that Slint's first album is better than their second.

nick, i was surprised that you and your "punk rock princess" wife enjoyed talladega nights so much. it's good, but i would have figured it too low-brow and populist for hipsters such as you are.

We did.

The Obners.

We kidnap pregnant women, psychic black kids, and airline stewardesses. Be glad that's all we want.

let me guess, you're with me, leather is the old monty. monty, if you haven't yet figured out that I'm a lover, and not a hipster, then you never will, my sweet.

well I guess the old board is dead for now. I can't see them rushing to fix it. I mostly just lurk around the internet boards now anyway. I do lurk here more. I used to mostly only come by for the year-end lists, but it seems like there's been a lot more music related stuff over the last year. I don't know, who am I to say?

peace & love

It was a performance art space for drug addicts and sexual service/entertainment industry employees to unwind after work. A safe place where they could recite some poetry, or maybe do a little break dancing, without the fear of prejudice or persecution.

I don't know if that beats my collection of piss filled coke cans I left in the supply closet.

Well, then. Who liked The Ballad of Ricky Bobby more, you or your woman?... &, I'm still shocked that you weren't at least seeing something (in)appropriately pseudo-indie like You, Me, & Dupree; I still remember how much you & the rest of the boys were hep to Bottle Rocket before all the ign'ant ones, like me, even knew that Luke Wilson was more than a matinee idol (think: Behind Enemy Lines).

Dissing CMJ on Obner is like dissing the Beatles while listening to, well, indie rock.

Also, saying "dissing" is lame.
