I am real curious about this, considering how different the last two have been.

I just recently got into Dylan. Went out and bought 5 of his earliest albums on my mom's birthday, since she was always trying to get me into him when I was younger.

He just blew me away, so, yeah, I'd definately like to check out the new one.

The batcave, most likely.

after one listen, it's a bunch of throwaway blues-by-numbers tunes, held together only by the fact that it's BOB FUCKING DYLAN.

It's quite Nora Jonesy. I hate Nora Jones.

I kind of liked it as well. It didn't blow me away or anything but I enjoyed it. I don't have much in the way of comparison to his last couple of albums, as this was the first new Dylan album I've heard since Knocked Out Loaded.

DJ, you're kidding right?

Time Out of Mind and Love and Theft were both solid albums.

When I get the internets back at home I can hook you up with those.

Swear to god, I'm not. After throwing this on yesterday I started thinking what was the last 'new' Dylan album I've heard. So I went to allmusic and had to laugh, yep, it was Knocked Out Loaded. I heard good things about those ones, and a couple of others but just never had the opportunity to hear 'em. So yeah, hook me up!

As a long-time Dylanologist... who had pretty much written him off by the 90's as totally dead to me... both Time Out of Mind and Love and Theft profoundly moved me...I consider them both in his 10 best.

I've downloaded the new one... and have reserved Saturday afternoon to checking into Bob Ver. 2006. I've learned to have no expectations about anything.

A good life philosophy for they are the true building blocks of resentment.
