Not being a Dawg fan, I'd find it easier to root for them with him as their QB, since he has waited for his turn and seems to be working damn hard to replace Shockley.
If Stafford was QB, I'd probably root against them on a few occassions, since it is kind of fun to watch the Blue Chip QB's take a beating now and then.
To me it would be like Texas with Major Applewhite and Chris Simms. I always respected Applewhite and I always thought the Longhorns one in spite of Chris Simm's play and could never beat OU due to him.

He had better impress within the first two series.

Yeah, gotta be a 74 yard bomb, and then a key dump off to Ware that goes for like, 16, and a big first down.

I have complete and utter faith in Mark Richt, though, so we shall see how this pans out.

Joe Cox and Blake Barnes must really suck dick, otherwise this wouldnt even be a question--Stafford could take his redshirt like a man and get to learning the offense and banging coeds.

I'm with Stu though, I dont think Joe T. is the answer long term. If he can get us through the South Carolina game (a game that were I handicapping today, I would have UGA as a three point underdog--I hate our chances in that game) all should be well.

Well, yeah. We always play down to The Cocks, and Spurrier will let you videotape her, so this BODES HEAVY. And, guess where ol gar will be? At a fucking wedding shower/birthday party for FEMGAR in Dallas. I already put her and the future ex mother in law on notice, ala Flair in that other thread, that I will be watchin the Dogs, without pants on.

How many fucking wedding showers are you guys having? You guys should have just cut a 30 minute video of yourselves pleading like televangelists except that instead of a 1-800 number you have a scroll of where you are registered and your address so everyone would know where to send the loot.

UGA's best bet would be to get Stafford under center STAT! Holmes played his HS ball here in Dallas, and he is DAT STUD.

He didn't play like a stud in the scrimmage. He threw three picks. I personally think they should redshirt him. UGA is essentially rebuilding/reloading this season. They got enough talent to be a top 25 team with Tereshinski as their QB. I'd save Stafford for next year, if the team is going to be stacked with talent.
If they are going to be worse off next year, then you throw him to the dogs, let him take his lumps and hope he makes it through the season injury free and well seasoned for the next year.

He's one of the best coaches in the country and he knows what he is doing. He waited until the last possible minute to make this decision and the pressue got to the others I think.

Richt molds QB's. It's what he does. It's the reason Stafford went there.

All Joe T. has to do is hand off right, hand off left, and don't make bad decisions and we'll be okay.

That being said, he named Staffor a co-#3 with another guy. I wouldn't put it past Richt to play all of them in game situations if Joe T. struggles. The best player will ALWAYS play under Richt.

In the first article I posted, they talked about Richt playing both Greene and Shockley together when they were both on the team and how Richt likes to give his QB's alot of reps in early games to see how they handle it.
This might be the type of season where you see a duo QB system, especially in some of the big games.

Duo QB system... you're giving me a f'n heartattack. I can't take that shit again.

With Joe T. in the game, I'm just not confident. Richt has been known to make bad decisions in play calling, and if Joe T. is just going to be a lame duck QB, I say get someone else in there, STAT.

I liked UGA's chances winning the West before hearing T. was gonna the starter. SEC is stout this year.

Tanner, UGA is in the East bro.

This is getting me excited. Is it the beer? Probably, but damn if I can't wait until the Western Kentucky game.

I'll take Richt's word on it.

Quote:
Georgia season records with Richt as Head Coach:
Year Record Bowl Game Attended
2001 8-4 Music City Bowl
2002 13-1 Sugar Bowl*
2003 11-3 Capital One Bowl**
2004 10-2 Outback Bowl
2005 10-3 Sugar Bowl*

Note:

* * - SEC Championship winner
* ** - SEC Championship Runner Up

His record as head coach at Georgia is 52 wins and 13 losses (32 wins 11 losses in SEC play).

I would respond to this, but I HAVE NO IDEA WHO YOU ARE!!!

I think Tereshinski will do good or get the ax, but I fucking hate and dread the two headed QB monster. In a position that relies so much on rhythm and flow of the game, it always seems that just as a guy is getting comfortable, they yank him.

That didn't last long. I'm glad we won last night against Spurrier, but it looks like Stafford has a LONG way to go. I'm glad to see he's the QB for the future, as he has the skillz, but he's got to become a MAN real quick like if we hope to win against our rivalries.
I have to admit I was so busy watching Stafford that I didn't pay attention to which RB is coming out on top as THE guy this year. I like T. Brown's style.

Instant replay is dogshit and needs to go.

Exhibit A: The SC 3rd and goal "fumble" play and the time it wasted, including, "the referees are trained to not blow the whistle in order to keep the play reviewable".

Why don't we just ditch the referees and review every play?

They do, up in the press box, review every single play. They created the instant replay, and changed the clock to compensate for what time lengthening instant replay would cause, but it still slows shit down to a creep.
In that case that FU brought up, it was to UGA D's advantage because SC had driven down the entire field and tired our D out. That review gave them a 3 minute break they needed to make that essential goalline stand.

Well, partly. If the SC QB had taken one step to the left and found the gap, he could have fallen into the endzone. Actually, the Smelley kid did it later in the game in Bulldogs territory, only he stepped to the right and picked up four yards.

<-- Former center. We loves them sneaks.

They need to nickname Matthew Stafford "MaSta," because he obviously OWNS THEM.

I'd be scared if I was Georgia now. If Tereshinski's ankle injury is serious, they'll probably lose more games than previously estimated. Stafford's numbers were pretty lousy, 42% completion rate and three picks will get Georgia annihilated by Florida, Tennessee and Auburn.

I'd look beyond the numbers, young jedi--dude made some poor descisions (GA's receivers had to call two timeouts to avoid delay of games because of the crowd), and yes, the picks (one of which should have been pass interference on SC), but he looks ready for prime time and holy shit does he throw a nice ball compared to Joe T.

I also like that our next games are against dogs so Staff will get two full weeks in practice and games with the first team offense.

I'm on board. (and god I hope I'm right)

Also, I figured out who dude looks like--Jason Isbell from the Truckers.
