I hate it when i love something so much that i just listen the shit out of it. One day i listened to nothing but Harvest Moon all day. I probably heard it around 7 times through IN A ROW. It was just stupid. But anyway, the following records i have listened to far too often lately, and i'm certain that they're losing their appeal. As such, none of the following shall enter my stereo for the next 2 months:

Neil Young - On the Beach
Neil Young - Harvest Moon
Tv On the Radio - Return to Cookie Mountain
Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation
Sonic Youth - Rather Ripped

Yeah, I got a bunch of these as well. I don't know if I could ever get truly sick of the following albums, but often I make a conscious effort to grab something else just in case I max out on them.

Tragically Hip - Road Apples, Fully Completely
Rolling Stones - Exile on Main Street, Let it Bleed
Neil Young - Everybody Knows This is Nowhere, Harvest Moon, Prairie Wind
Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run
The Who - Live at Leeds

I am currently doing this with the new Lucero and the new T.I.

I am taking a one year sabbatical from 'OK Computer'. I am several months in.

I guess listening to it, at mininum 3x a week for a almost a decade finally took its toll.

I limit myself to one 'Loveless' rotation every 4-6 months.

I'll stick to just new releases, since that's what I've mainly been listening to this year.

The Format - Dog Problems (Already put this on the shelf for a while, 'specially after I missed out on that concert)

Girl Talk - Night Ripper (Still can't stop listening, so this may get ruined)

Neko Case - Fox Confessor (Down to once a month)

The M's - Future Women (My #1 of the year, and according to iTunes, easily my most played album. Haven't listened to it in a month. But I did just recently buy their first album and their EP, so that can tide me over.)

SOUND Team - Movie Monster (I listened to this so much in a two week span that I almost started getting bored with it. Need a long break from this one.)

Def Leppard - YEAH!
Shrimp Boat - (all of them)
Andrew Bird - The Mysterious Production Of Eggs
all the Beatles albums

I've got to cool it on:

TV on the Radio
Comets On Fire
Six Organs of Admittance

Basically all the shit I've come to love and rely on.

I've never sickened myself from an album.

My problem is there's too many CD's I want to listen to and not enough time to do it.

I've given Band of Horses and Wolfmother a break.

This is closer to my problem although I have gotten a little tired of a few things.

Nothing really comes to mind right now though.

It hasn't been ruined but I have been tapped out, going on a year and a half, of Either/Or, XO, Roman Candle, and Figure 8. I listened to them one after the other over and over again for almost 2 years and then I just get bored with it quick when I pop it back in for a listen. The songs are still good but I needed room for some other stuff.

Lately:

+ Rufus Wainwright - Want Two (already had to stop listening)
+ David Axelrod (he was all I'd listen to for 2 weeks... on repeat)
+ Juana Molina - Son
+ Arthur Russell - First Thought Best Thought (obsessed with it since it came out... currently playing in my head!)
+ Burning Spear - Songs from the Burning Spear (waaay overdid it with this... had to let it rest... now I've dug it out again)

For awhile the Axelrod obsession got so bad that someone would be talking to me and I'd be kinda half listening to them... missing parts of what they were saying because all I could hear in my head was his string lines/basslines/beats.

I rarely listen to albums more than 10 times/year and thats true for new purchases too. So basically my answer is none.
