Never.

But I can tell already that your karaoke bar has a better selection of tunes than my karaoke bar.

It's Not Unusual- Tom Jones
Only the Good Die Young- Billy Joel
Bad, Bad Leroy Brown- Jim Croce

Probably a bunch of other Billy Joel stuff.

<--- won 2nd place in a karaoke contest in '93 singing Toto's Hold the Line. I definitely could not sing that song today.

Friday night karaoke has become a staple for me and mrs. albion. We've been talking about doing something different though because the "other people" sing the same songs all the time and so it get's pretty predictable. I like to change it up and try new and sometimes difficult, or slightly out of range songs. Pitch adjustment on the karaoke machine is a life saver.

I think I sang these last time:
Fame - Bowie
Keep On Smilin' - Wet Willie
Plush - STP
Istanbul - They Might Be Giants
Lonesome Day - Bruce Springsteen

We usally sing one or two together as well. Most often it's the Todd Rundgren song "Hello It's Me" sometimes "He Ain't Heavy...".

Hard to recall exactly, but I think:

Prince - 1999 (duo)
Blood, Sweat & Tears - Spinning Wheel (alone)
Dion - The Wanderer (alone)
Guns 'n' Roses - Welcome to the Jungle (in a group, sucked)

"Mama Tried"
"Dead Flowers"

I think that might be every one I've ever sung.

can't remember beyond that

...and I must say that I do a pretty good impression of both. (I also used to do a mean Edie Brickell, but I'm not so sure I can do that one anymore. It's been a while.)

I very much want to do this once I get back to Chicago and before I leave again.

Live band karaoke, I mean.

We're planning a trip to a live band karaoke joint. Any ATL Obnerites interested in a stumblin', bumblin' night of drinky karaoke?

I've always stuck to three particular songs:

"Hit me with your best shot" Pat Benatar

and "dreamin" and "One way or Another" by Blondie

I suck at Dreamin but can nail vocals with the other two.

Man I haven't done this in ages. Some day, some day I'll get out again.
