You know, my pending economics PhD has landed me an interview in carbondale. Would chicago be my nearest obner concentration, or st louis? Or would everyone come to carbondale to hang there? Why did you decide against the econ degree, anyhow?

C'dale is about 2 hours from St. Louis, and 5-5.5 hours from Chicago.

And welcome, shmoo!

I went to school at SIU in Carbondale.
Fun town.
Very active local music scene that is surprisingly solid.
I, for one, still have friends in C'dale and will probably be down there at some point.
And you still visit on occasion too, dontchya, Tom?

First you break down and call it the shmoo poll and now you refer to yourself in the 3rd person? This is getting to be a bit much there, Eric. Gaw.

Congratulations, Eric... try not to kill yourself. Both of our schools seem to encourage that.

Z - Where in Chicago do you live? I think I sorta know where the rest of the Chicagoans call home.

lincoln square, between the damen and western brown line stops. i think we determined in a previous post that we only live like 3-4 blocks from each other. we should hang out sometime.

Z, I didn't realize that was you who I met at the PAP concert. Sorry we didn't get to talk more. I was way fucking hungover from the previous nights events. And I was trying to hook up with some indie chicks...which ended up in total failure.

Ahh, I believe you are correct about this being mentioned before...didn't realize you were so close. I'm on Leland, a little west of Leavitt.

I think we need a Chicago dinner with the crew one of these days.

Not I. We live too damn south. I never thought moving to the south loop would be like living in another city. It's such a pain in the ass to go out.

Hopefully come fall we'll move to lincoln square. That's our goal.

I used to live at 2163 West Giddings. Sounds like you are RIGHT there.
I love that neighborood, even if it has gotten a bit more pricey.
