I've been wondering about this one too. I like the music, but HATE the fact the singer sounds exactly like Britt Daniel, even more so that the guy from Robbers On High Street.

It's a really good album. I've probably listened to it more than anything else this year.

Its good, seeing as how I was let down by the new Youth Group yesterday, this was an excellent find. Could worm its way into the top ten. Definitely not boring. I like the title track best.

Lots of comparisons to Spoon. They do sound a bit like Spoon on a few of the tracks. Biggest difference: Spoon write better songs.

No, actually I didn't. Is that what they said? Well, they finally got something right.

They said "blah blah blah, they do these things like other bands that we like, but for some reason we don't allow them in this case. They should have written better songs."

I got this for free from work. I didn't like it on the first impression but will play it again because of this thread.

I think it dominates the new Youth Group disc, which I was anticipating eagerly.

easy now dude. "Catching & Killing" is one of the best singles of the year so far, and there are a handful of tunes on the Youth Group album that are far better than some of the tunes on the Sound Team album.

not sure why we're comparing them (they sound nothing alike), but yeah, both are ace in different ways. been listening to them both quite a bit lately, and enjoying the hell outta them.

Patrick, what's your overall opinion of the Youth Group?

You like the Youth Group Dalen?

I wasn't too impressed by Catching & Killing or the other few songs I've heard off it (can't remember names though). And revisiting Skeleton Jar I've realised there's only a couple of songs on it I really like (though they are fantastic), and a lot where the vocals grate badly.

And, to be honest, the massive delayed hype, including not being able to carpool anywhere for the past 6 months without hearing Forever Young, isn't really helping me like the new one either

I really liked Skeleton Jar, listened to it alot last year. This one has its moments, but it hasnt grabbed me yet after three listens. I just compare the two because they are two things Ive listened to recently ;)

Yes, Catching And Killing is a fun song.
