In an otherwise peachy week:

There's nothing like coming into the job you love and finding out that you basically have to start watching your back / there's piles a pressure for deadlines you weren't informed about. :(

There's nothing like coming in to the job you hate and being asked by your boss to intentionally stab your co-worker friend in the back.

I need out - NOW.

people on youtube put up long strings of bullshit references that actually have nothing to do with their video, so instead of the angry black weatherman from family guy, you get results like some douchebag playing a solo on his electronic drums. which as a drummer, doesnt offend me in the least. nope, not at all.

i just went to lunch with one of my coworkers who has worked here for probably 25 years. she has dirt on everyone. i heard a lot of it. it was amazing. my only complaint is that the information gave me little to no leverage with anyone that i am directly involved with.

i went to a triathlon store this afternoon in search of random things that i might've forgotten (sunscreen wipes, any cool gadgets for the bike, etc.) and the salesguy did what drives me absolutely apeshit... he asked what i was looking for and when i said, "stuff for sunday's tri.", he said, "ohhh... you're doing the triathlon? have you done one before?" he had this scrunchy face when he said it and it annoyed me. then, when i was looking at a shirt (looking! didn't even take it off the hanger!) he said, "i don't think we have a shirt in your size." not even, "we don't have that shirt in your size." i wanted to kick him in the shin and say, "look buddy, i did one of these when i was 50 pounds heavier and in terrible shape." maybe i should start carrying around before and after pictures. that sort of treatment hasn't happened in a while, so it kind of soured my mood for about an hour. now, i'm fine and i'm going to use his tactless comment as fuel for sunday. anyway, i put down the $75 worth of stuff in my arms and told him to have a nice day.

i should burn the store down.

but shit, other than that, today's an awesome day.

The general manager's lack of organizational skills make my job at least five times more stressful than it need be.

I got a huge unexpected bonus from my summer employer with which I can pay back my credit card debt. This is the greatest day of my summer.

Spend the money on women and whiskey and then just blow the rest.

I have an awful lot of stuff I COULD complain about, but nothing I SHOULD complain about.

constant teeny tiny edits, one ofter the other because people are rushing.
if they would just take their time and look over the whole piece and find all the edits we coudl do the edit process in half the time.

but nooooooo, one edit . .. make a new PDF . . . one edit . . .make a new PDF . . . one edit that changes eveyrthing around making new edits . . . new pdf . . . one more edit . . . one more PDF . . . this one is final we swear . . . new PDF . . . oops, missed one . . . new PDF . . . . . . . . . .

kill me.

PDF's have ruined the graphic design buisness.

for some reason that reminds me of this guy who was working in this music store I was in yesterday talking about the show with Tommy Lee and Jason Newstead and all that and just KILLING them all as musicians. I seriously wanted to be like "Dude, you are pushing 40 and working in a really small, fairly shitty music store, and still wearing a Led Zep shirt and playing cheezy riffs on all the shop guitars all fucking day. Get over yourself."

And they didnt have the cords I wanted so I had to go to the new super awesome Guitar Center anyways where this fucker couldnt get a job sweeping up.

I was offered tickets to Sunday's Cards/Cubs game, then 15 minutes later it fell through.

this is exactly how i feel today. i'm at a point of frustration because i've been trying so hard to do well and shit just keeps happening and i keep getting blamed for other people's mistakes.

i got yelled at today. i can't explain myself because the person just yells. i have to take all the bullshit and get told not-so-nice things. it doesn't help that i barely got any sleep last night and i'm retardedly hungover.

I close the restaurant in two weeks and take a 6 week vacation, and yet I still can barely muster the required concern for business.
I fielded a call from a customer for my bartender that went something like this:
Customer: Tell him (my current bartender) that I found him that new bartending job he was asking about.
Me: Ok, I'll do that, this is great news--- thanks for calling!

Figures, he's basically already stopped working when he's here anyhow.
