i went to a triathlon store this afternoon in search of random things that i might've forgotten (sunscreen wipes, any cool gadgets for the bike, etc.) and the salesguy did what drives me absolutely apeshit... he asked what i was looking for and when i said, "stuff for sunday's tri.", he said, "ohhh... you're doing the triathlon? have you done one before?" he had this scrunchy face when he said it and it annoyed me. then, when i was looking at a shirt (looking! didn't even take it off the hanger!) he said, "i don't think we have a shirt in your size." not even, "we don't have that shirt in your size." i wanted to kick him in the shin and say, "look buddy, i did one of these when i was 50 pounds heavier and in terrible shape." maybe i should start carrying around before and after pictures. that sort of treatment hasn't happened in a while, so it kind of soured my mood for about an hour. now, i'm fine and i'm going to use his tactless comment as fuel for sunday. anyway, i put down the $75 worth of stuff in my arms and told him to have a nice day.

i should burn the store down.

but shit, other than that, today's an awesome day.

You want I should take care of him for you?

There's nothing like coming into the job you love and finding out that you basically have to start watching your back

this is exactly how i feel today. i'm at a point of frustration because i've been trying so hard to do well and shit just keeps happening and i keep getting blamed for other people's mistakes.

i got yelled at today. i can't explain myself because the person just yells. i have to take all the bullshit and get told not-so-nice things. it doesn't help that i barely got any sleep last night and i'm retardedly hungover.

So sorry to hear that hun. It's so lame to get blamed for things out of the blue when basically it's like the middle people haven't communicated with you and now they're stressed and venting because their boss is on their ass. It get passed down the fucking food chain. So lame.

In my case I actually did have a chance to say some stuff in my defense... but now I wonder if I should have. My boss was all: "I know you're coming here straight from school... but in the real world there are deadlines...etc." (um. maybe then they should have told me the deadlines). When I got a chance I was all: "Um, actually, for the record I'm not straight out of school at all". I just can't let false assumptions like that slip by---it's lame.

Anyway, I could go on, but will spare you all the vent... Just to say I'm sorry you had a weird day at "the (seemingly) good job" too. You know I'd tell you we should go for a drink if we were anywhere on the same coast. (!)

this describes my life at work: devil wears prada.

just replace the fashion industry with the music biz sans the glamour. add a bit of ari from entourage in the yelling factor and there you go.

i totally need a drink.

My only complaint has to do with the computer system we have at work. I found out the company I work for buys software that is nearly obsolete, so they don't have to pay a few extra bucks, but then we don't get the tech support or quality we need. It is also not very compatible with our antiquated Windows software, since they are also too cheap to get us the most recent addition of Windows and a modern server.
We had a two hour meeting yesterday about our "new" scheduling/time clock software. All the Departmental heads hate it, and the accounting officials in charge of it got all defensive.
