It's a freaking long link
Go ahead and bitch about me not shortening it up.
I figured I was nice enough to put it up.

Edit:
I deleted it down to the primary web page, you will now have to search for the schedule from that page.

I hadn't checked the scores yet today. You guys played a good game against Greece. They were the European champs I think and were favored to win your group. You'll finish third in your group still if Turkey holds on to beat Brazil.
USA wins 114-95, All they have to do now is beat Italy to win the group. Then they will play Brazil or Lithuania from your group. I'm kind of hoping for Lithuania, since Brazil played them close during the exhibition season.

You're getting too hyped and angry over International Basketball, it's not like it is the World Cup or Rugby.
It would be like me throwing a fit over Major League Baseball or College Basketball instead of College Football.

PLAYED WELL?!?!

WE SHAT ALL OVER EVERY ASPECT OF THE GAME. WE DID EVERYTHING BETTER.

THE REFS KEPT IT JUST CLOSE ENOUGH...

THEN BAM. THEY HIT TWO THREES IN A ROW BECAUSE DAVID "I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO BEAT MICK THE STRIPPER IN A GAME OF ONE ON ONE" BARLOW LOSES THE BALL. NOT ONCE. BUT TWICE. FUCKHEAD.

I'm hyped up because: a). i'm basketball obsessed and whenever my team loses, my world crumbles, and:

b). This world cup was meant to be our chance to show the world that we can actually play; that we are better than the majority of Euro teams. In every game we've played we have outclassed the opposition so much, but as soon as we get about 10 points ahead late in the game the refs pull out the whistles and slap all sorts of fucking ridiculous un-sportsmanlikes on us. It's a fucking joke. Those Euro refs are so fucking bad. Bogut gets NO LOVE in the post. He gets knocked around so much and so obviously, and then down the other end he gets good positioning and gets called for all the fouls. There's nothing i hate worse than when one team is playing so much better but just loses because of the refs.

How have they been officiating the U.S. games?

I'm saying you played well because you kept it close and from your vantage point of watching the game, should have beat one of the teams that could medal according to most of the experts.
I would have been more pissed about losing to Turkey then these guys. I understand how irritating it gets when you lose close games, but at least you didn't get smoked by double digits.

The only questionable call during a U.S. game was against Puerto Rico. Carmelo Anthony had left the court, but was still standing courtside rather than sitting, so when the US was suppose to inbounds the ball the ref handed it to Anthony who threw it inbounds illegally as the USA were essentially playing with six players. The refs finally caught on to their mistake and called the USA for a technical.
Anthony should have never thrown it inbounds, but the refs shouldn't have been able to call something after they made a mistake.

No, I can't, especially by someone who waited two days to criticize me for my gigantic url. I'm lazy and only care about discussing the sporting event in question.

Mick,
I thought you would have really flipped out after the beating the Lithuanians gave you. I guess you just resigned to your fate. At least you still get a chance to play and upset the USA in the next round, unless you somehow lose to Qatar.

USA versus Australia on Sunday. The Aussies came out and crushed Qatar, while the United States played mostly back-ups and throttled Senegal 103-58.
While I wouldn't mind seeing the Aussie/American game be sort of close for the sake of friendliness on here, I really think the USA has to open up a can of whoopass on the Aussies. The American team has to show teams like Argentina they are going to win this tournament. Members of the USA team have said they aren't going to get punked in this tournament, this seems like the game they will either faulter in or be unbelievably dominant.

We crushed Qatar with our bench, which, like the Americans, is actually pretty strong and can hang with our starting 5. The only problem is, we can't do shit against decent teams unless CJ Bruton is on the floor, so he normally ends up racking up too many fouls or getting tired out. Offensively -- and i say this with minimal bias -- he is better than any of the American point guards. But we only have one of him. You guys go two deep at nearly every position.

The only way we can keep this Sunday game close is if CJ has a career game and if Bogut starts realising he is actually quicker, not stronger, than most other bigs. Every time he makes a finesse move he blows straight past the defense, but he still insists on backing them down most of the time.

Dwight Howard is the best interior defender in the tournament, but every time they play each other in the NBA, Bogut always seems to somehow piss him off and get the better of him.

It should be an exciting game, as we're probably the two most similar teams in the tournament in terms of the way we play. Of course you guys do it much much better.

Our only advantage that i can think of is that every player on our team is a legitimate three point threat (yes, even Andrew Bogut. He's knocked down the threes when we've needed them. He only sucks in the NBA).

also, Promethium, can you please edit that link. It's making this thread wider than Andrew Bogut's head.

P.S. check out that 15-year-old white-trash facial hair Bogut be rocking on Sunday. That shit is embarassing. He's meant to be representin' the country and shit.

USA and Australia tip off at 12am EST, but american tv coverage doesn't start until 1am EST. I doubt I will stay up for this game despite drinking coffee now.
Hopefully the USA wins by 20+, sorry Mick.

we didn't deserve to even score those few points we did.

That was a sorry exhibition if i ever saw one. As good as you guys played, that was the worst i've ever seen us. Most of your steals weren't actually caused by defense, just by us passing the ball to NO ONE or dropping it on own feet, etc. Horrible, horrible.

If we played properly (ie. like we did in the first quarter) i reckon America would've won by about 5-10 pts.

Damn, I'm sorry it was that ugly. I was hoping for a 20+ pt victory, but when I woke up and saw they won by 40 pts, I kind of felt bad.
From reading the recap, which is a little biased toward Team USA, the americans had everything clicking. They were over 50% in shooting, while you guys couldn't buy a bucket in the 2nd quarter. Team USA was over 50% from beyond the 3pt line, while the Aussies were at 24%

America beats the Germans by 20 and have their worst shooting performance of the tournament. Bring on the Greeks
