You have to travel across the country for your wife's friend's wedding.

Any obnerites familiar with Denver? I'm not talking about skiing or, you know, active things. More like decent venues and the like?

obnyone?

I feel pretty surly about the whole thing. I'd love to visit Denver, but I kinda have the feeling I'm going to see hotel and some lame reception hall and that's it. There is so much lame obligation associated with weddings anymore - rehearsal dinner, next day brunch, blah blah blah.

it's probably like 30-45 minutes. there's lots of little shops and cool things up there. there's a strip in downtown denver that's pretty neat too. coors field is right by that and i think there's a six flags nearby.

I posted a similar thread (even the title!) a little while ago. I was actually in Lakewood, and didn't spend much time in Denver at all.

Boulder is an hour away. Red Rocks is cool. There's stuff in that thread....

Thanks, nacho, for taking the time to look up something that I was clearly too lazy to do myself.

I know that I will be nature-mocked by glorious vistas as I trudge from one wedding-related gathering to another. I'm holding out that there might be a good show in town one of the nights.
