Can't tell if this is my favorite new band name or my least favorite.
I'd imagine the members are insufferable hipster bastards, but the music seems alright on first listen.

they are from around here. they opened for juliette and the licks recently. one of the better bands from central indiana, in my opinion.

These guys just got a spotlight on AMG so I took a few songs in.
I'm not so sure about it yet. The music is nice but the voice is a slight bit oberst. The review is over the top.

i heard them today for the first time. i think it's already been deleted. and two ampersands in a band name is a negative.

I saw them open for South tonight and was quite impressed. Eight members in the band including trumpet and cello. Liked 'em enough to buy their CD.

Hey, another Hoosier! I hadn't noticed that...

Definitely the best Indiana band in a long time. Overall, I think the CD is pretty good but not as amazing as some reviews would have you believe. It's a solid, non-offensive pop album but doesn't really bring anything new.

The name's from The Royal Tenenbaums. It's dumb but good-dumb, the way Volcano, I'm Still Excited is good-dumb.

We played with them at a midwest music thingie and they were fantastic live. Nice people, too.

The Indiana connection helps quash any kind of insufferable hipsterdom.

Good people - the Savants played with them at the Mercury Lounge in NY a few months ago. Dave Savant (bass) knew a few of them from Indiana, which helped.

Really terrible name. And it doesn't take much to come up with a usable, non-stupid name.

You know, I bought this, probably months ago and haven't listened to it yet.

Thanks for the reminder!

And they've even got an album out. Friggin' slackers.

They've been in regular rotation on XMU since... since I got xm I think. Got it in the house, anyway, so back in the winter. Some songs are good, some are "meow meow meow, meow, me-yow."

That fucking "meow, meow" song is one of the worst songs I've ever heard.

I'm listening to Not Animal for maybe the 7th or 8th time. After the first couple listens I was pretty sure this wasn't doing it for me. There's no "Skeleton Key," and maybe no "Sea Chanty of Sorts." But I did have a sense that it was a more even album, albeit with lower highs. I still feel that way but I like it much better now. There are a lot of moments throughout that get their hooks in, and "As Tall as Cliffs" and "Children's Crusade on Acid" are both pretty great.

Anybody have an opinion on Animal v. Not Animal? I haven't heard Animal at all.
