Lotta big talk out of you in this thread, my gigantic mouthbreathing friend, a lotta big talk.

I'll obviously require a massive soundproof suite at one of the local hotel's. Will this be possible during this event? Do I need to get on this, stat?

Well, I know Z-Grade marks like you will push any and everyone under the bus for a the warming comfort of Bob's Gigantic Embrace...so I figured I'd carve out MY territory.

I see how it works, now. Two bit punks like you never will understand the concept of Gratitude.

You want me out, you gotta THROW me out.

Besides, you'd never navigate A-TX without me, bubba. Like I said earlier, you will need all the advice you can afford at my usual rates.

Meh. If Scotty D still lived in town, your contribution would be to bring me coffee and organize my sound clips.

But you are right about A-TX--I got no fucking clue. I say alert your boy in the Business about the possibility of making a Fake Documentary about a Fake Radio Show. WE NEED ACCESS TO EVERYTHING!

There's no cost to simply barhop. Most of the day shows are free, and select evening ones can be had for the right price. Our MO should honestly be to hit shows and get drunk during the day, then retire to Bloor's luxury mongering suite for drunken podcast shownanigans.

And Bloor, YES, get on the hotel STAT!!!

Fuck hotels and your Clear Channel-eque studio setup - "Hip-D live from SXSW" demands guerrila-style on-the-scene dispatches. When some greasyhair in sunglasses tries to pass of the latest demo of The Freemason Pony Show and get you to check out their showcase, I want to hear his body hit pavement after LooGar and Bobbo go Sprite commerical sumo on his ass.

Extreme situations call for extreme measures.

Bloor should pull out of his bag of money, wipe off the Astroglide, and rent out an entire Holiday Inn Express or somesuch. We need a home base!

But Chadwick is also right about having guerilla segments. My thought is that we utilize some sort of small, portable digital recording device for stuff we do down on 6th street (atrist interviews, etc), then incorporate those clips into each night's show from Bloor's hotel room/Imus studio.

I wasn't kidding when I said I need free lodging. I'm floating right above the poverty level here, people. I'll spend $600 on a bracelet and will sleep in club doorways, I guess.

That was swiateck. Bloor and I don't mingle with the masses. I will get dudes like Mike G and Tommy D on this bugger ASAP, we need to stay at that fucking Radisson. And you are right about ALL ACCESS, Jocko. We will need it. We'll see if Mike G is worth his weight in warm piss, or if we will have to fly to DC and beat a pass out of him or his entertainment mgmt group.

who the fuck do you think I am Bob?

I agree though on the mobile shit though. A portable MD or other recorder will be utilized.

Hipsters will be clowned.

does SXSW work like CMJ does, where you can get a badge, but still be denied certain shows; or you can still buy tix to individual shows and be guaranteed admission?

if so, im going the individual show route.

SXSW is better because I've never known a badged or braceleted person to get turned away unless the place is WAY above capacity. And you can buy indiv tix as well. Seriously, CMJ can't hold a candle to this thing.
Five days of madness.

Ask Tania if the badge was worth it for her. If shows are all you're into, just get a bracelet since it affords just about all the same privileges minus the panels and roundtables that I was always too drunk to go to anyway. Seriously.

True dat. I should probably focus my energies on trying to get most of the staff to actually start WRITING, before I get to worrying about getting them to show up at SXSW.
