I have my draft tonight, and I always let a couple bits of news slip by me, like a few years ago when I drafted Anquan Boldin a few hours after the news broks that he was out for 10 weeks or so. Are there any stories like that that I should beware of? Like Koren Robinson, obviously, and I'm shying away from Clinton Portis in the early rounds, but anyone else? Is Kerry Collins worth picking up late? etc.

This is pretty much all I'm doing today after jessica simspon gets done on the today show.

I can't think of any other big stories. Someone missed my draft the other night and ended up with Koren.

Greg Jones is out for the season, TO may or may not get kicked off another team... I'll let you know if I think of any others.

Curtis Martin probably won't play at all and if he does, he'll likely back up Kevin Barlow.

Domanick Davis is a huge risk. Forgot about him. From Yahoo.com:

Aug 30 John McClain, of the Houston Chronicle, reports the Houston Texans are likely to place RB Domanick Davis (knee) on injured reserve this season should Davis be unable to play. "Domanick is a big part of this team, as I've said all along, but if his knee isn't healthy enough for him to play, then he's looking at injured reserve," head coach Gary Kubiak said. "I don't know what's going to happen. We've got to sit down as a group to discuss the situation."

Also, if your league is deep and you need some sleeper QB options, look at Romo.
"Backup Tony Romo, who before the game got a contract extension through 2007 and a $2 million signing bonus, was 30-of-45 for 349 yards and two interceptions -- both in the end zone."

Portis is worth a second round pick. hell start Sunday and should be fine. TO is worth a first round pick. Double digit TD's a lock. Barlow would be agreat steal in the third or fourth round, I would think, if he fell. Kerry Collins will start in Nashville, but they really dont have any receivers, so...if its the twelfth round and you dont have a QB...

Oh, and if it still matters, it's looking like Branch will either be a Jet or Seahawk this year.

Umm....

Peyton Manning's arm fell off. Totally don't draft him - 'specially in the Obner league.

Plus, Steve Smith has rickets and Neil Rakers has Smithets...

Draft Brett Favre in the first round if your league gives positive points for interceptions.

Vinateri is injured.

Remember: kickers go first and you can always trade for running backs later."

Antouwain Smith looked awesome--draft him as a sleeper.
