The VMA's?

I only caught a few performances and awards here and there. Luckily MTV will play it 6 times a day for the next month. One thing I have noticed about the awards shows on MTV is that they always try and do some cool set up and it always makes the show kind of awkward. People have to walk like a half mile to get their award. I don't know how to describe it exactly, but it just feels like when I am watching their awards shows it's like I walked in on my wife cheating on me or something.

At any rate, Shakira is hot, so that's a plus.

Oh God. I forgot. Axl Rose presenting The Killers was funny to me. He is such a loser. People actually cheered for the guy. Watching him made me laugh.

Lou Reed with The Raconteurs and Ok Go's performance were pretty much the only thing even remotely interesting on the entire show. Maybe Timberlake's performance (minus the dancing monkey). The rest of it was a bunch of mumbling, talentless, candy coated bullshit.

Glad that Lou Reed said that MTV needs to bring back the rock 'n roll.

yeah. I liked that too. I thought it was pretty lame when the dude was like, "hey everybody...LOU REED" and people were pretty much silent.

seriously. although i found the crowd to be dead most of the night. it was weird 'casue you'd see the next bullshit star walk up to present the next award, and you could see that the audience weren't clapping at all, but you heard a bunch of applause.

which brings me back to the whole "mtv awards shows are awkward".

It's like one step above a disaster. haha.

I watched just a little bit of it, just so I could see Brendan Benson on commercial t.v. -- weird. Plus, I do get mesmerized by Shakira's warp-speed hip girations -- weird.
