After week one, College Football News has updated there Bowl Projections. This will get a little more serious once the BCS rankings are released, but here they are anyway

Poinsettia Bowl: Oregon State versus BYU
Birmingham Bowl: Houston versus Rutgers
Emerald Bowl: NC State versus Arizona State
Independence: Iowa State versus Ole Miss
Holiday: Nebraska versus Oregon
Texas: Colorado versus Pitt
Champs Sports: Michigan State versus BC
Sun Bowl: Texas A&M versus UCLA
Alamo: Wisconsin versus Texas Tech
Liberty: Southern Miss versus Arkansas
Meineke Car Care: Navy versus Maryland
Gator: Virginia Tech versus Notre Dame
Cotton: Oklahoma versus LSU
Outback: Penn State versus Georgia
Rose: Iowa versus Florida State
Fiesta: Texas versus West Virginia
Sugar: Tennessee versus Louisville
BCS Championship: USC versus Auburn

I think they have Oklahoma and Colorado overrated. I think Tennessee might make a BCS game, but there is no way two teams from the Big East make it to the BCS games.
I really love the Penn State/Georgia game and Iowa/FSU match ups.

I figured I would add the AP and USA Today polls too.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/rankingsindex

I'm a little pissed that the Vols jumped up all the way to 11 in the AP Poll and that Nebraska dropped a spot in that poll.
I also don't understand how Oklahoma can be ranked 10th in the USA Today poll, when they essentially got lucky and escaped an upset by UAB. Arizona State should also not be closed to a ranking, they struggled against Northern Arizona, UCLA looks alot better than them.

I'm pulling for OSU to beat Texas, Oklahoma to lose to Oregon or Washington, and Tennessee to beat Florida in 2 weeks.

This would, god willing UGA doesn't lose, put Tennessee and Georgia undefeated going into Athens to play each other on Oct. 7th.

Gameday would have to go to Athens. They are notorious for sucking at the teat of the Red River Shootout.

Oklahoma will lose to Washington this week if they play like they did against UAB. They are so lucky Adrian Peterson hasn't been caught doing anything like Bomar did, even though there are alot of rumors floating around. He might be the next Clarett.

wait, there's really a bowl game called the Meineke Car Care Bowl? Is getting that game something to be happy about?

Not likely--sadly, UW couldn't even put San Jose St. away when they had the opportunity.

I did read that OU had some trouble containing UAB's running QB, which is Isaiah Stanback's (UW QB) strong suit. He's at least entertaining to watch.

Oregon looked very good last week--granted, they were playing Stanford, so it may not mean much.

It is if you're Navy, which has no hope of ever making a BCS bowl, or gets shut-out by the conference tie-ins. So they went and go their own tie in.

And honestly, how much worse is the Meineke Car Care Bowl than the fucking Outback Bowl?

The only thing that makes the Outback better is payout and location, other than that there isn't much of a difference. Atleast they are both better than the Birmingham, Poinsettia and Emerald Bowls.

Here are CBS's projection, I am not sure if they actually updated them this week. I don't think they did since Oklahoma is still listed in a BCS game and Kansas State is on the list.

New week of Bowl Projections from CFN
Poinsettia Bowl: BYU vs. Oregon State
Las Vegas: Utah vs UCLA, again
Emerald: Maryland vs. Arizona State
Holiday: Cal vs. Oklahoma
Texas: Kansas vs. Rutgers
Champs Sports: Wisconsin vs Boston College
Sun: Texas A&M vs. Oregon
Insight: Michigan State vs. Missouri
Alamo: Penn State vs. Texas Tech
Liberty: UTEP vs. Arkansas
Meineke Car Care: Georgia Tech vs. Navy
Chick Fil A: Miami vs. Alabama
Gator: Virginia Tech vs. Pitt
Cotton: Nebraska vs. Tennessee
Outback: Iowa vs. Georgia
Capital One: LSU vs. Michigan
Rose: Notre Dame vs. Florida
Fiesta: Texas vs. Boise State
Orange: Florida State vs. West Virginia
Sugar: Auburn vs Louisville
BCS: USC vs. Ohio State

I'd like to see Nebraska play anyone from the SEC but Tennessee, beating them during the Tee Martin/Peyton Manning era is enough for me. I'd rather see it be LSU, Auburn or Georgia, we haven't played any of those teams since the mid 80's.

I really think my Cyclones could go 3-9 this year. They almost got beat by Toledo, for chrissakes. They'll need to pull off a couple big wins to make it to a bowl.

I left out Ohio State on the first list, because I don't recall any real Obnerian attending school there or caring about them last year, other then when they whipped Notre Dame's ass.

Here's the link to the current list:

I root for Ohio State only because my Bearcats haven't given much to cheer about since they almost beat Ohio State a couple years ago.

this is absurd. you root for an in-state team because the team you'd prefer to root for hasn't been good since they almost beat the team you are cheating on them with? granted, ohio state and cincinnati aren't in the same conference and don't play each other too much.

this is like a cubs fan rooting for the white sox because the last thing the cubs gave you a reason to cheer about was almost sweeping the sox in interleague at some point.

It'd be like me cheering for Creighton in Basketball because Nebraska usually sucks. You could cheer for Frank Solich and Ohio, or one of the other quality MAC teams like Toledo and Akron, rather than the Bucks.

Even though they are not lgoing to be anywhere near a bowl, check out the racism inherent in the hampton roads system

The Great White Hope

Ultimately, I just think it's hilarious that the newspaper out here got away with an article title like this. It'd probably be funnier if you lived out here, but geez it cracks me up.

I remember Grambling and Southern having a white QB or star player a few years back, they did a piece on ESPN about it.

Here is an article about it:

Here they are for September 17th:
Alot of people are going to hate these.
http://cfn.scout.com/2/569394.html

Poinsettia: BYU/Oregon State
Birmingham: UAB/Rutgers
Emerald: Maryland/UCLA
Independence: Iowa State/Kentucky
Holiday: Oregon/Nebraska
Texas: Kansas State/Pitt
Champs Sports: Michigan State/Miami
Alamo: Texas A&M/Penn State
Liberty: Southern Miss/Arkansas
Meineke Car Care: Navy/Georgia Tech
Gator: Florida State/West Virginia
Cotton: Oklahoma/Tennessee
Outback: Wisconsin/Georgia
Capital One: LSU/Iowa
Rose: Michigan/Boise State
Fiesta: Texas/Notre Dame
Orange: Clemson/Florida
Sugar: Auburn/Louisville
BCS: USC/Ohio State

I think the majority of the BCS games look like turds. If Clemson wins the ACC over Virginia Tech and Boston College, I will be shocked.
