Actually, I heard on the radio yesterday that the family is fighting to have the footage shown. They claim he once said that if he ever gets attacked while filming he wants the cameras to keep rolling. I guess to honor his wish, the want to broadcast it.

I'm not sure how reliable the source is, it was on a sports talk show on my drive home, but that's what they said.

I think this was just about Irwin's quote that someone else posted. Local papers today were saying that his manager (I would assume speaking on behalf of the family) wanted to destroy the footage once they got it back from the police
