Some good new releases next week

This intrigues me, even though "Bad Vibes'' is the last CD of his that I bought...and that was 13 years ago. Am I missing out on anything good (I have everything up until BV)? Billy G?

Well I'm a HUGE fan so take this with a grain of salt, but I like everything he's ever done. If you're going to pick up anything from the post Bad Vibes releases, get "Music in a Foreign Language", "The Negatives" and "Love Story" in that order. He's released a few other things but they have the feel more of odds and sodds/completist only releases. The new album was recorded with the mostly same lineup as "The Negatives" including Jill Sobule so I expect that it will end up in my year end top ten.

Oh don't get me wrong. We're definitely doing an Amoeba run while you're in town to be followed by cocktails to celebrate all of our purchases. I was sick so I'm gonna blame it on that.

Matt Mahaffey's new project "Wired All Wrong" is released on Tuesday as well. Realistically, I see this as another Self record since Matt handles all vocals and the production at times sounds like it's all Mahaffey. Of course Justin's album is out too. I'm in for both....
