It's not the end of the world if you just say "this is my favorite album of the year so far" and it changes or you realise ten minutes later there's one you kind of maybe might like more.

Make a fucking decision. I put "just" in the thread title for a reason.

:x

It's been changing around a bit lately, but at the moment, and after seeing them play it live, I'd say

Bluebottle Kiss - Doubt Seeds

But there's several others that are pretty close to that, and lots that I have but haven't given enough listens to yet, or need to get.

And my most anticipated album of this year is exactly 2 weeks away, and it will be awesome - Snowman :rawk:

I feel like it's going to change eventually, but I love love love it everytime it plays, so high marks for consistency.

I'll stick with Destroyer's Rubies until I get to hear Swan Lake.

I dunno, nothing has really blown me away from start-finish this year, though I've been roundly impressed by Justin Timberlake, Walkmen, Ak-Ak, Flaming Lips and of course Ghostface, but I find I don't listen to all of those all the way through...

Spent all day listening to A/F, Springsteen, Creedence, and post-Peppers Beatles.

Best remains Rhinobucket "And Then It Got Ugly"

That Television Personalities album is utter crap, and I've been a fan for more than 20 years.

More of you need to hear the Super Numeri album "The Welcome Table". Crimes are being committed.

I just can't get down to this with all the overexposure and airplay on commercial radio this has got here. But more so, I've never gotten into anything Augie March has done since their first record, Sunset Studies, which is fucking awesome. They just kinda changed their style for the last two into a direction I don't really like, with all the rising choruses and dramatic stuff...

See I don't have a problem with the exposure - it's nice to see a good band actually having some success, and it's not like they've been massively overhyped. My problem with them is they seem to lack the capability to self-edit. There's incredible 40-50min albums in there, but they keep putting out 70min opuses that I just don't have the patience to sit through over and over again.

Though you're correct in saying that Sunset Studies is far and away their best.

And Ish, I like the Super Numeri. It's one of the ones bubbling away just beneath the top

Destroyer's Rubies is still clinging to my top spot, but The Long Winters just might eventually dethrone Bejar at some point.

Hey guys, long time and lots of stuff mentioned so far that I know nothing of, but after only about four listens, I'm going with the new one by Wovenhand called "Mosaic". Sounding pretty special right now. Has much more of a Joy Division sound than in the past, but with that medieval european folk sound that weaves throughout early Dead Can Dance music. Does sound like a full band, even though it's usually just his guitar/banjo, voice and drummer, with piano and/or strings on some of it. Another nice sounding one too, recorded, mixed and mastered by Robert Ferbrache up at his studio in Elktooth, CO. Be fun to have a recording studio and work with a lot of your favorite artists. I think Ferbrache used to play some lap-steel with 16 Horsepower. Anyway, always a caution that it is very spiritual music, and his religious passion can get almost overwhelming at times, but he brings it all on this one, and I love it so far. After I ordered it a few days ago, I read a review or two that said it was too overbearing, and I got a bit worried that maybe he went too far this time, but one listen had me, and now it just gets better. Grabs you and doesn't let go until the music stops. Compelling, passionate music.

A tie between People in Planes's "As Far as the Eye Can See" and Amusement Parks On Fire's "Out Of The Angeles". Silversun Pickups picking up steam tough.
