I still don't have their last one.

How was their last one, by the way?

Suprisingly coherent pop music, and you could nearly figure out what the songs were about, even.

it was good, but i found it a bit unfocused compared to "satanic panic".

oh pshaw, everyone had this January, 2007 release yesterday. ;)

Im surprised by the quality. i imagine timis and i have the same one and its ripped directly from CD pressing at APX, which is pretty good for these (usually crummy) advance releases

After giving this three disjointed listens over the weekend, I like it a lot and am a bit surprised by the tepid reviews from the Obner universe thus far.

"Bunny is a Rider" is KICK ASS, and I now remember them playing it live when I saw them earlier this year (and thinking it was kick ass then). They're definitely moving in a more accessible direction, but in this case, not in a bad way at all.

January 23, 2007: Of Montreal, Deerhoof, Shins =

just gave it a first spin, seems to follow in the same vein as the last album, and seems to have some catchy moments. nothing bowled me over, but i'll give it another few spins.
