Huh. He and John Phillips wrote 'Kokomo'.

I hope there's intentional irony in this statement.

Nah, I screwed that up. Come to think of it, MacKenzie was in the Journeymen with John Phillips before The Mamas & The Papas. Phillips wrote "San Francisco."

Wasn't it in Forrest Gump?

I think Animal from The Muppets should do a version.

Probably one of the top 5 worst songs EV-ER.

The 60's died the very moment that song was cut. I'm not saying what came next was bad--in fact I'm saying it was better, but for all intents an purposes the 60's took a bullet in the medulla and got pushed out of the car Right There.

If this were today, that song would be a car commercial before they even got it mastered...

Christ, I just looked it up and you guys are right--John Phillips did write that garbage. It had to have been a joke or like a bet just to see if he could make a hit out of a stupid fucking song...

McKenzie and Phillips' involvement in "Kokomo" now makes that Beach Boys cover of "California Dreamin'" from the same era make a little sense.

John Stamos' involvment will never make sense...

I'm surprised Anal Cunt never did a version of this song titled "If You're Going to San Francisco, Be Sure To Take a Lot of AZT."
