Three incredibly great bands in one night -- I love it when that happens!

I already knew what to expect with the Cold War Kids -- stellar performance once again! Btw, I need to post a photo later cuz I could swear the lead singer is Billy G's doppelganger. Local boys who are getting quite the notoriety and dammit, don't ya just hate it when they're incredibly nice as well.

Dr Dog -- THANK YOU, COTTON! Yes, you! For introducing me to this band o' so long ago. How fuckin' great were they? Gosh and super nice too! When I told the lead singer (Taxi is his name?) that someone from Philly introduced me to them, he immediately asked, "What's his name? Maybe I know him." "Uhm...Cotton", says I. I would've been floored if he actually would've known you. Doesn't know you, but loves your name!

And, Elvis Perkins...holy cow! I love it when an opening act is damn good! You guys really need to check him (and band) out -- they're touring across the US and just might be in your town soon. Bluesy folk with a stand up bass and a drummer who prefers to bang on his drum standing up.

No problem regarding the pics -- hopefully, she'll like what I shot. Plus, it was a great way to meet the cute guy next to me. ;)

But, dude, what the hell were you doing up at such a late hour? Weren't you supposed to go to bed in preparation for tonight?! Tsk tsk!

Cool, T. I was planning on going to that Okkervil River show, but had no clue who that opener was. Danke.

Stace, take my word, I think you'll really like him.

Btw, I'm seeing Ray LaMontagne later this month at the Troub. I can't even tell you how excited I am to FINALLY see him!

wow that's awesome. I don't think any of them got my name, but I'll be sure to mention it to them the next time they play in town just to power weird him out.

Truly though I'm more impressed that I got to pass on some good music that you hadn't heard yet. That's much harder than it sounds.

I think the Cold War Kids are playing with Tapes 'n Tapes when I'm seeing them in October. But I've never heard a note by them.

What should I download?

Oh hot damn, Tanny. Is he headlining? That should be a damn fine place to see him (not that I've ever been there, of course, just from what I think good venues are for him yada yada yada you get it...)

Most excellent.

He better play 'Can I Stay?', because I'm telling you right now, the version on 'Til the Sun Turns Black' does it very little justice after seeing him preform it alone, live.

they only have 3 ep's out... current ep is "up in rags."

best cwk kids tracks (imo):
hang me up to dry
hospital beds
robbers
tell me in the morning

you can find mp3's on their official website
