I really enjoyed Ong Bak: Thai Warrior and I am looking forward to seeing this this coming weekend. However, I have one question. Why do you suppose "Quentin Tarantino presents" it? I know they did the same thing with Hero when it came out. The studio said they wouldn't release Hero unless Tarantino attached his name to it. Do you suppose it's a similar situation with "The Protector"?

I wonder how many people think it's a Tarantino flick now.

I tried unsuccessfully to convince a couple coworkers that Hero wasn't a Tarantino movie... These are guys who would NEVER go see one of them for-n films, but they were pumped about seeing that one.

haha. that's pretty awful. You better let them know about this new Tarantino film then. haha. I am sure they'll be stoked again.

I haven't seen any ads refering to it that way. Doesn't he leverage that cache to get some better distribution deals for films that he's supporting?

I think that is the case. Only in the last week or so have I started seeing ads with "Quentin Tarantino Presents". Plus, they have been advertising it like crazy this last week. Stepping up the promotion the final week before release I guess.

It's definitely not as good as Ong Bak, but there are a couple of really standout fights. And hey, dude throws an elephant at one point. Image

I might see this, I liked Ong-Bak.

I think they did the same thing with Hostel and some people were confused that it was a Tarantino movie.

Saw this tonight. I thought it was great. The final fight scenes are unreal. I think Tony Jaa is great. If you have any interest in martial art films, go see this one. I love it when they get pissed and start actually hurting people. So...so...good.

It's strange that they would use the same title as one of Jackie Chan's worst films.

That part where Leito is making his getaway at the beginning has been online forever.

Also, she's pretty cute.
